Ambong Rainforest Retreat in Pantai Tengah

A surprisingly delightful stay! The hotel is nestled within the rainforest, allowing you to breathe in the forest air without even leaving the premises. It's truly enchanting to be surrounded by nature, and you might even spot lizards, monkeys, and other animals around the hotel. The breakfast spread is extensive with plenty of choices, and there's a dedicated vegetarian restaurant, which is very friendly for vegetarians. Remba restaurant is particularly noteworthy; the beautiful scenery is absolutely breathtaking, but do be mindful of monkeys trying to snatch your food. The hotel's service was impressive, with thoughtful shuttle service that helped us with our luggage. The one-on-one service was incredibly prompt and they even offered us some travel tips – truly a perfect service. Just one small suggestion: the room facilities could use a bit of an update; the TV is quite small and the hairdryer is rather old.

Very beautiful hotel, lovely staff and great rooms! Comfy beds, awesome view, they provide plenty of bug spray: I was very happy with this hotel. I would only feedback the following very small areas:
1. The pool dyed my blonde highlights green. Do not put bleached hair under the water in this pool, unless you want green hair.
2. As a hotel guest, you cannot get a coffee with normal milk served in the pool area. I understand it is a vegan restaurant, but it would be nice if the cafe portion could offer dairy milk coffee for guests.

Just finished our second visit to Ambong, Langkawi, was again superb. The friendly staff, 1st class meals and service are above and beyond expectations.
We will return for our 3rd visit soon, most happily.

My husband and I just had the most amazing 3 night stay there. It is the perfect location , perched high in the forest with great views over the beaches. Service was next level , everyone was so kind and helpful from suggesting a great tour operator to the prompt collection from our room when we needed a lift. Food was superb 👌 😋 . Our room right at the very top was super spacious, well appointed and we loved the welcome surprise. It's the little things you remember. The views are exceptional 👏. Worth 5/5 stars 🌟

This is our second stay at Ambong Rainforest Retreat as we enjoyed it so much the first time. This time has not disappointed. We had a different room this time with a wonderful view of the sea and surrounding forest. We could spot the wildlife from our balcony, seeing spectacled monkeys, giant squirrels and hornbills. It's quite high so lots of steps up to our room, but a free shuttle service is available both for lifts to and from your room and into town, it's very well run, you only need to ask and the response is immediate. The staff couldn't be more attentive, friendly and helpful. We even received a complimentary afternoon tea with sweet and savoury delights, this was an unexpected and very welcome bonus. The service here is much more personal than the bigger hotels making this place really special. Would definitely recommend.

Near perfect resort. Everything was beautifully-design and clean. Food was excellent, even the vegan options! They also did up a sweet decor for my mother upon request.

The only thing they should improve on is the promptness of the buggy service - otherwise everything was excellent! Such a great place for couples and small families. Loved that there were no kids, too.

Upon arrival we waited 30 minutes in a very warm reception before we were greeted with no cold water.
However after the staff found us and started helping. They were really nice and I felt bad for complaining but we were on a romantic outing and needed some downtime after my wife had a miscarriage 2 days before birth. There was no chance of spa or massage as it was either fully booked or just not running.
For the price I could get the same service down the road, but I'll have a room with a pool. So we went down the road and paid 120 ringgit for a room which opens onto a pool.

It's all about comparing. And unfortunately this was money lost. But still a nice place just not worth the price.
