Reviews
The staff are exceptionally kind, attentive, and hardworking — truly beyond praise. Unfortunately, almost everything else ranged from disappointing to very poor.
Accommodation and upgrade:
We upgraded to a villa to enjoy some peace and quiet, hoping for a more exclusive and relaxing experience. The total cost came to around $1,200 per night, so expectations were understandably high — but the experience did not at all justify the price.
Restaurants:
There are two restaurants. The breakfast one, located in the main building, is completely enclosed. As a result, all the sounds and aromas accumulate inside, making you want to leave as soon as possible. In the evening, it operates as an à la carte restaurant, but the atmosphere remains low-level — bright lighting, plain tables, background music unable to mask the noise. We decided not to dine there.
The second restaurant, in a separate open-air building, has a more pleasant atmosphere. We dined there twice. There were never enough tables, though the staff quickly arranged an extra one for us. Sadly, the food was tasteless despite trying several dishes, including the seafood platter. Overall, the food quality deserves 2 out of 5.
Facilities and upkeep:
The hotel shows its age — about 30 years old. The beach chairs are worn and falling apart. The villa itself bears traces of multiple patchy renovations and mismatched equipment replacements. We noticed leaking faucets, slow drainage, unpleasant odours, and a cracked sink — all signs of neglect.
Noise and maintenance:
For two days straight, the lawn around our villa was mowed with an old petrol trimmer that was extremely loud and emitted strong exhaust fumes. It was impossible to relax by the pool.
Attention to detail:
The complimentary fruit basket contained only three apples, an unripe plum, and an equally unripe mandarin — quite disappointing in a country famous for its abundance of fruit. This small detail sadly reflects the general attitude toward guests.
Marketed as a 5-star hotel, but completely misleading and overpriced.
Promised evening entertainment, activities (volleyball/events), and a usable beach ; none were available. These were key reasons we booked and paid a premium.
Amenities were poor, food was unacceptable (we left dinner without eating), and staff showed zero service awareness.
We changed hotels on day one.
Not recommended.
Standard I Expected
My recent stay was sadly disappointing
The room, unfortunately, did not meet
the standard of cleanliness I associate
with the Westin brand.
For a hotel that prides itself on
wellness and a pristine environment,
this was a letdown. The fundamentals
of housekeeping seem to have been
overlooked, making an otherwise
comfortable room feel neglected and
not worth the premium price.
