Reviews
Service: Excellent. I didn't encounter any rude or discriminatory behavior from the front desk staff or the doorman.
Facilities: Honestly, I felt they weren't great, even though the hotel has a distinct Nanyang style throughout. 1) The hallways at night were genuinely a bit spooky. 2) The room layout in the Victory Wing is really odd; two rooms facing each other, and you have to walk deep into the hallway to open the door? 3) The bathroom had too many mirrors. Plus, as soon as you open the bathroom door, there's a bathtub, and the bottom of the tub is black and right next to a huge mirror... It was fine during the day, but at night and in the middle of the night, it was really hard to deal with. 4) Some of the paintings in the hallway were also just... hard to describe. I didn't think it looked bad when I saw the photos before booking, but staying here, I really struggled to like it.
Location: City center, very convenient for visiting attractions.
2. During my one-night stay, the room key cards failed twice. The first time, it worked for the elevator but couldn't open the room door. The second time, it didn't even work for the elevator. When I went to the front desk, they claimed it was a power-on card, which is complete nonsense. Is the room key card pictured on it fake then?
3. There were bugs in the breakfast restaurant. When I checked out, I gave feedback to the front desk about my stay, and their 'compensation' was to offer me another meal in the buggy restaurant. I was speechless.
I booked a night in the Victory Wing and specifically emailed the hotel to request a non-corner room. However, upon check-in, I was still assigned a corner room! The front desk service was excellent though 😅, and they helped me switch rooms.
But the Heritage Wing felt a bit eerie 😅. For those staying there, the fridge and cabinets occasionally made noises at night! It was quite spooky, I hope it was just due to old furniture.
What stood out to me most is the hotel’s timeless aesthetic. It’s not trying to be “Instagrammable” — instead, it leans into classic elegance, which makes the experience feel calm, refined, and genuinely relaxing.
The pool area is especially peaceful — perfect for slowing down and unwinding. Breakfasts were consistently good, with a pleasant atmosphere that matches the overall charm of the hotel.
I also really appreciated the thoughtful service. In the afternoon, staff would check in on the room, and in the evening they even offered additional water after check-in — small details that make a big difference. I also noticed how warmly they celebrated a guest’s birthday during breakfast, which added to the feeling of genuine hospitality.
Overall, a very pleasant experience with a strong sense of care and tradition. Would gladly return.

Georgetown at its touristy best. Good fun entertainment, great selection of foods and drinks. Local families come here for a wonderful nights entertainment and eating. The kids fall asleep at the table whilst the oldies enjoy themselves. Love it.
