Disappointing anniversary due to poor maintenance and management.

We booked a premium room specifically for the bathtub/jets to celebrate our anniversary, but the experience was a letdown. When we turned on the jets, significant amounts of black residue/gunk came out. We tried flushing the system three times, but the problem persisted.

We were moved to three different rooms. In every single room, the jet tubs had the same hygiene issue (mold/biofilm buildup). By the time we finished switching rooms for the third time, it was nearly 11:00 PM; we had missed dinner, and the hotel restaurant was closed.

Management (Ricardo S.) was unfortunately unhelpful. Despite the amenities being unusable and our night being spent moving luggage instead of relaxing, a refund for the price difference was denied. Later, I was contacted and asked to remove my feedback in exchange for "help," which I found unprofessional.

Other issues:

AC in the final room was extremely noisy, making it hard to sleep.

Room keys failed multiple times.

The elevator was quite shaky.

The "pool" is more of a small hot tub and doesn't match the photos.

While the bellhop was friendly and the food was good, I cannot recommend this hotel if you are booking for the amenities. You may not be able to use what you paid for.

My experience at Hotel Baruk Guadalajara did not match the price paid. The room had clear cleanliness issues that were reported and not corrected, and when returning at night the room door was left open, which was concerning.
Although the hotel states that rooms are soundproof, normal conversations from the neighboring room were clearly audible. The eco air-conditioning system, controlled by motion sensors, shut off during the night, making the room uncomfortably warm, and the room phone emits a constant light that cannot be turned off.
The resolution took time and, while we were moved to a suite, it had no windows in the bedroom area. Requesting a $2,000 MXN damage deposit feels unreasonable under these conditions.
I would not return or recommend this hotel.
It has a nice view tho...

I had a really bad stay at Baruk Guadalajara Hotel. The service was terrible from the start. Every time I asked the front desk for anything, they just said “NO” right away without even checking if it was possible or trying to help. Problems kept getting worse every day, and no one fixed anything. The bald manager or supervisor with the heavy eyebrows was especially rude and unhelpful. It got so frustrating that I finally had to look for another place to stay. I do not recommend this hotel at all if you want normal, friendly service. 1 out of 5 stars. Avoid it.

Amazing views from the suite. The only issue we came across upon check in is a cash only hold instead of a credit card. It was inconvenient as we had to go withdraw 3000 as a deposit for the room in order to check in. They had no atm on-site and we had to walk about a block away to a nearby atm.

We chose this hotel for the use of the bathtub and jets (we live in GDL and just wanted a relaxing night, enjoying the tub and the experience). Around 7/7:30pm, we filled our tub and turned on the jets. Tons of black gunk came out of the jets. Upon searching the internet, this occurs when the jets aren’t cleaned properly. So mold, mildew, skin cells, oil, and basically every previous bather’s gunk builds up in the jets. This can cause skin and respiratory problems to bathe in a bath like this. We emptied and filled the tub two more times, with the same result. We went to the front desk to complain, and they moved us to a new room. Same process, same issue. Even someone from the hotel came up with us to check, and witnessed what we were saying. We were moved to a third room, where we continued to have the same issue, but just not as bad. By this point it was nearly 10:55pm. We had wasted 3+ hours on this bath issue, still hadn’t had dinner, and now found that the hotel restaurant was closing, as well as delivery services, and we were without dinner. So not only was our point of the hotel stay—a nice bath and relaxation—completely ruined, but we also were stuck without a meal. If a hotel is to advertise a special room with a bathtub for a specific higher price, we would expect to be able to use the extra amenities we are paying extra for. Otherwise, we would have paid for a cheaper room to have the same tub-less experience. We wanted a refund for our stay, as it definitely was not as advertised nor what we paid for. However, the only thing the manager was willing to offer us was a complimentary buffet breakfast, which doesn’t really make up for our wasted evening.

The food was good, the rooms were otherwise clean, the bellhop (Ricardo, I think was his name) was helpful and friendly, but the manager was unhelpful and had a bad attitude, and if you’re going to splurge for the use of a bathtub, just pay for a motel instead. You’ll probably get a better experience there anyway.

Other issues we encountered: our room key failed multiple times, the bathroom in the third room we were given didn’t have any hand soap, the refrigerators in each room were unplugged and took a while to get cold after being plugged in so our leftovers went bad in all the room changing drama, our AC in the final room made shuttering noises when turned on so we couldn’t sleep while using it, the elevator shakes so be careful if you get motion sick on elevators, and the “swimming pool” is hot tub sized and not big enough for more than 2-3 people (and definitely not big enough to get in if you’re strangers).

The hotel is in a good location, the new district is relatively safe, the rooms are relatively spacious, it is very close to the exhibition hall, there are shopping malls nearby, and travel is convenient. It is a good choice for business travel!

The room type given was not as good as the first one. The most important thing was that the shower head was still the type that pointed straight down, which was very inconvenient for people who didn't want to wash their hair.

Big rooms with comfortable beds. Breakfast is good. nice stuff.
