Hotel Obala in Budva

We arrived at the hotel Obala in August 2025 without any expectations because we had read reviews that were far from great , but we wanted to see the country, so took that risk. I don’t want to waste time talking about the room itself - it’s so tiny , one person can’t move freely - there is no place to put a suitcase ( you can try the wardrobe but then you can close its door and even won’t be able to leave the room) . But to be fair, the location is great - the hotel is next to the beach. The most outrageous thing is the dinner( we took HB) . When we came , we were given a salad ( cabbage, pepper !! In August ) , some soup and as we opted for fish we were served with the cheapest fried fish and cold potatoes. For dessert we were given some pastry . We did not want to have any pastry , so we inquired if there were any fruit. At which point the waitress rolled her eyes and behaved in a rude manner. The food is just inedible. When I voiced my disappointment to the manager, he tried to explain that the waitresses were young and inexperienced. While we were talking to the manager, the waitresses were pointing at us as if we had committed a crime . To make the situation better the manager tried to bribe with either an apple or an orange, which of course we declined. I had to contact my travel agent to get the refund for dinners. If you are going to stay in Obala, be prepared.

Very small two bed room, totally different reality from a hotel review, old date furniture, hotel need renovation, dangerous stairs leading to rooms, no storage space, rooms for two is a room for one person . Not enough towels in room . In reality this is two stars hotel.

an experience to forget:
after much anticipation for our stay at Hotel Obala, inspired by its promising reviews and beautiful photos, the reality of our visit was starkly different and disappointing.
The staff is impolite, the room was dirty. The food is awful.

Too small double-bed rooms, no space for luggages, terrible view
