The Strand Yangon, Yangon1 / 30

Yangon, 92 Strand Road (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Spa facilities: Massage, Spa and wellness centre
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed! A+++ Old world charm in Yangon and being over 125 years, it was like staying in history. Highly recommend this place. From the rooms and especially the staff are beyond reproach. The food was also excellent with one of the best breakfasts in Asia.
The Strand is a find, old hotel which, for the most part, has been tastefully refurbished. Some shortcomings: the staff appear very young, inexperienced and with poor English, resulting in the wrong response to requests - half an hour to get cornflakes for breakfast; the lighting in the suite was poor, with several lamps but few overhead lights, making it impossible to read in bed; the bathroom shower...
Very nice staff, and beautiful room !
It is not quite easy to put a fair review for this hotel. At a very first glance, with the ongoing political unrest in Myanmar, the effort to reopen the hotel and rehire all the staff deserve a great compliment. Nonetheless, the shortfall in service and amenities should not be compromised with the situation and some area such as cleanliness should not fall short especially when the hotel priced themselves...
I'd always wanted to stay at this hotel, so I stayed here for three nights. The shower head in the bathtub was so loose it felt like it might fall off while I was using it. I let them know the next morning and went sightseeing. When I returned, they had fixed it, and there was an apology message on my desk. Breakfast was made to order from the menu, but when I mentioned my preference for fruit, they...
An old colonial style hotel, charming furnitures and decorations. The service was perfect, staff were very kind. We were very happy about our staying

Just try and add some pure veg dishes on the menu.
The room is clean and spacious. The food is delicious. The service is good. The staff is excellent.
It is close to the airport and the breakfast is good. The staff was friendly. The facilities, such as the swimming pool, are also good. Although it is not a route where regular buses run, there are taxis waiting all the time.
Good hotel food ok and staff service is very good
The hotel rooms are old. The food in the restaurant is great. Massage service needs improvement. Being very close to the airport is a big advantage.
The staff is friendly. The swimming pool is clean. The inside of the room is clean. Massage facilities are good. Breakfast is average. Fitness facilities need to be improved. It is good overall (cost-effectiveness).

The service is good. They even pack breakfast to take it with you if you are leaving early morning. You can equest it on the night before your checkout morning. Good food and so many options to choose. For cleanliness, I would say they could put more effort into the cafeteria area at level 5. I killed one small cockroach 🪳 in the bathroom on the day of our arrival. This is nothing serious but I...
The hotel has just gone for a renovation looks good n new but amenities old. A/c not cold. Water pressure is low n Hot water not very good. The service stuffs are okay but the food is so so n bit on the pricy side.
This hotel is ideal for first-time visitors and travelers who enjoy a lively atmosphere and convenience. Common feedback highlights its 'excellent location' as a major plus, while potential downsides include 'can be a bit noisy at night' and 'roads can be quite congested during peak hours'.
The price-performance ratio is okay - nothing to complain about for one night.
It's a good hotel. It's efficient , and convenient. Good for short stop over or so.
It was only a short stay, but it was very comfortable and quite near to the airport. I particularly enjoyed the vibes - it looked straight out of a movie! The staff were all helpful, they even packed our breakfast since our flight was early. You can also immersed in the experience of trying traditional tanaka (face cream) at the lobby.

We came here last weekend for Music box. It's excellent sounds. Place is nice & clean. Good service. Love the Sitting plan & deco. Worth a try...
Easy accessible to major places, near people park, Shwedagon pagoda. Service is comparatively poor than most 3 stars hotels in town. has rooftop bar, massage. Compound has many shops look like hotel rent out for income.
The first international hotel in Yangon. Interior is a bit on the old-fashioned glamorous side. Worth to be noted is the rooftop Sky Bar - a really big multiple storey place with multiplr open and closed terraces, offering great views to the city and Shwedagon pagoda - in fact, this is may be the nearest unobstructed view to it. Definitely worth the stay - just do not go for the burgers in the menu...
It's quite dated. The bed is far from comfortable. Shower is located above the bathtub and anyone that's taller than 1,7m can't even stand straight under it. Noise pollution due to pioneer nightclub. The hotel feels haunted. Location is great. Amazing views from the sky bar. Friendly staff. Conclusion: you can get a whole lot more for 60$ a night.
Haven't stay there but there is a good spa, Yangon International spa.
Located near to Shwedagon Pagoda, People's park, downtown and shopping malls. A number of restaurants, pub & Karaoke in same compound. Good parking space.

It's honestly the best hotel near the airport, and comparing it to other hotels, not only are the rooms cheap, it's really solid. With the rooms, a small breakfast which tastes average to good is also included.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Airport Avenue Hotel in Yangon, and I can confidently say that it exceeded my expectations. The service was outstanding; the staff went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms are incredibly spacious and beautifully designed, providing a relaxing atmosphere after a long day of travel. Another major advantage is...
Very near to the domestic airport and you can just walk there if you don't have a lot of Babbage. Nice room with good space. The staff were not helpful. Called the reception because the sink was blocked and no one came. I asked for a waking call because I stayed solo and had an early flight in case of sleep deep and not woke. Guess what.. no one called. Fortunately I awakened myself early. Asked for...
The room was wonderful clean The Wi-Fi is so fast even can watch favorite sports channels
Very friendly staff and spacious, clean rooms. The pool was a little dirty. Great location about 4 minutes in a taxi to the airport! There is also a good convienence store called Iceland just up the road and you can get a variety of different alocholic drinks as they were limited to just beer during our stay.
The hotel location is near the Yangon International Airport, situated along the airport main access road. This hotel is newly built with a modern design, their rooms are wide and in a pleasantly comfortable condition. The swimming pool is not too big but within the acceptable dimension. The restaurant is a bit short out of the standard, but then again for a fairly new Hotel there is always a room for...

There's not much interesting nearby, at least for me. Maybe for Muslim travelers, they will appreciate the mosques. But the room was good, the service was good, and the rooftop has some nice views. I would stay again.
The location is a little far away form city center. Staffs are nice but had a hard time communicate in English.
I was worried about choosing this hotel in a hurry due to visa issues, but it was a great value for the money, and I'm grateful for the wonderful memories I had. Pros: I think it's a good place to stay for the price. It's conveniently located, close to attractions and restaurants, and the river view, temples, and sunrises and sunsets from the 9th-floor restaurant are fantastic. The rooms are spacious...
Nice and friendly staff at reception desk, spacious room, convenient location, not far China town and various local bars
I stayed for 10 days. Good Points 1. The room service food (Chinese) was generous and delicious for the price. 2. It was inexpensive. 3. I thought the staff was relatively friendly. They even killed a cockroach with one hit. Bad Points 1. There were so many bugs. I encountered large cockroaches twice, and they were flying all over the room. It was terrifying. There were ants, small spiders, and other...

Seems like the room was not used for quite long time.
The staff's response was smooth and I was pleased. I could tell they were well-trained. I also liked that the shower had plenty of hot water. Thank you very much.
All good but the constant power trip is really annoying
It is good value for money and the service is also good. Plus, the Yangon cityscape view is really nice. Good free breakfast available. Watch out for crows while eating breakfast. I'm stealing Personally I am satisfied.
A nice place to have fun with your family and friends. The rooms are clean and comfortable .All the hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. Especially Front office staffs have a sweet smile and polite.
I already stay 1week at this this hotel. I really appreciate of their laundry service because they are so quick and so cleaning. All of staff are so friendly, just like my second home. I appreciate again. Thanks for everything.

It s so nice place to stay for trip myanmar. Clean facilities kind and well trained staffs. Also have a spa too
New and nice n clean hotel..room are small. Front office manager is very rude to customer. Not understand about service industries... I feel sorry for the owner of hotel..
Very accommodating staffs , will bend to much extreme to make my day good. Appreciate the cook made a special vegetarian dish for my vegetarian guest from Thailand and Korea.
I love the massage of Seoul Hotel Myanmar. The korean breakfast is great. The staff are so helpful

1. Located in an alley, it's a secluded spot away from the hustle and bustle. However, there are still some upscale bars and restaurants nearby, within walking distance, and the alleyway leads to a busy street, so it's not inconvenient. 2. The interior clearly shows its age, but it's still clean overall, indicating that the hotel is well-maintained. 3. The rooms have basic amenities, but I found...
The location is good. Rooms are spacious. The Wi-Fi connection is bad in lower floors. I stayed on the 4th floor and had to open mobile data all the time. The food is average. No breakfast served. But there are tea shops, small restaurants around the hotel.
Great price, nice rooms, decent breakfast. Housekeeping really flexible, could rebook it for any time of the day. However had a bad experience when I requested a late checkout, they tried charging me half the price of the daily room rate ($20) for an extra 2 hours. The hotel was practically empty so this felt a little bad. Never had this before, just a yes or a no, never a charge.
Great hotel with friendly staff.

The hotel amenities and cleanliness can be improved with more new furniture amd carpet. The service of the staff is good. The hotel is near to junction city.
Before to visit Myanmar I read many reviews and they told that staff at reception can help to book tickets for bus. In this hotel only one girl spoke English when I was checking in but when I come and ask to help me with bus ticket booking nobody could help. The people who were on reception had very poor English. I spent half of the day to buy ticket. And location is a bit far from center. I recommend...
The staff were very accommodating, from the receptionists to housekeeping💙 I stayed here for only one day as I extended my trip by a day. Don’t expect too much from the amenities, as the hotel is half the price of others with similar facilities—which is why it’s a good option😊 The breakfast buffet had limited options but was still decent —- They have a section where you can ask a staff member to...
Comfy room and big bathroom (the shower is amazing!). The WiFi is very unstable. There a lot of options for the breakfast, but the western section isn’t so good (at least they have bread and eggs). The YaYa’s menu is delicious, and the room service is fast. All the staff is very helpful.
A nice hotel, with friendly front desk staff. This hotel has an excellent gym, the breakfast is nice. Its close to St John's Mall. Recommended
Good service, clean room, reasonable price, grocery store and embassy nearby.

Quiet environment and wide view of Shwedagon pagoda. Clean rooms with friendly customer services. There is a Restaurant an roof top bar with reasonable price. Should go there and enjoy. Families with kids are also welcome .
We stayed here during the Myanmar leg of our wedding. The hotel staff made sure everything we needed was made available. They were so accommodating and friendly. The rooms were really nice, spacious and clean but could do with a little modernization but for the price charged it was an absolute winner. The view at the top where we had our ceremony was absolutely stunning. Great view of Yangon and Shwedagon...
The quiet place and the view from room is as you see in picture. Myanmar's signature, Shwe Dagon Pagoda can be seen even not from roof top. Feel the scenery of Kandawgyi+Shwe Dagon+Green Plants makes me worth to pay. The room is also clean and wide enough. The breakfast can be seen in the photo. Great place for staycation without swimming pool and stay in a room to read a book or watching movies.
It's a hidden gem of affordable accommodation on a quiet lane May Mauk Road. It's about 10 minutes walk from Royal Garden Chinese restaurant. It's another new hotel that offers comfortable mattresses, pillows, new linen blankets. I booked the smallest sized room at USD 27 from booking dot com and the room is much better than the price I have paid for. Impressive. Bathroom has a separate shower area...
The best hotel ever! The place is gorgeous, clean and upscale with an amazing view from the rooms. People are very nice and polite with great hospitality and warm gesture. The service is top notch and you feel welcomed like your own home. The best thing is its very peaceful atmosphere and happy vibes with an add-on magnificent view of Shwedagon pagoda. Had an amazing time at Governor’s residence with my son Charlie and family. Beautiful surroundings in a peaceful location in the heart of the diplomatic quarter. The staff were fantastic and the rooms extremely comfortable. Highly recommend, will definitely return when in Yangon.
I have just spent 3 nights at the Governor’s Residence hotel in Yangon. It has been spectacular, the old colonial style building with teak floors and beautiful gardens creates a miniature Raffles atmosphere. This is ‘gem’ of a hotel, tucked away in the diplomatic quarter of the city. It’s a must visit location. If you want a classic Burmese hotel, this is the place. Quality service, the staff are...
Had a lovely time here. We ordered coffee, pasta, mushroom pastry and lime soda. Everything tasted really good. The flavors are gentle but well-done, and portions are satisfying. Just a note: • If you go for à la carte, you’ll need to order by yourself from the menu. • But on weekdays during lunch and dinner, they also have set menus, so it’s more convenient and you don’t have to think too much about...
We have recently stayed at the Governor’s Residence for 6 nights and cannot recommend this historic hotel highly enough. It is a beautiful building, in such a peaceful setting and in an excellent location for site seeing. The rooms / grounds and facilities are very well kept. We enjoyed wonderful meals/breakfasts on the restaurant veranda every day. The service is among the best we have had & the staff...
Review of the Governor’s Residence, Yangon The Governor’s Residence in Yangon is a luxury hotel set in a beautifully restored 1920s teak mansion. Once the home of a colonial governor, it now offers guests a rare mix of history, elegance, and modern comfort. Located in the peaceful Embassy Quarter, it feels like a tranquil retreat away from the city’s noise. Rooms are spacious and decorated with teak...
