Amazing experience, very student friendly facilities and prices. Only problem was an error when trying to pay city tax, however everything became fine as they refunded the amount I paid extra for.

Fantastic hotel in a perfect location. Very close to centraal train station and with lots of lovely bars, shops and restaurants on your doorstep as well as a supermarket just around the corner. With a last minute decision to visit Rotterdam with my son, we chanced upon Art Hotel. Modestly priced and right next to Maashaven, it took less than 10 minutes to reach from Rotterdam Centraal. Very weird staff behaviour, ive stayed more than 3 times in this hotel. Never answering the concerns, as a frequent traveller tried to modify stay date staff didnt accept the request, nice approvals with not feedback. Early morning, cleaning staf will start throwing brackets and mops in the hallway to make sure you wake up early

Loved staying here over Christmas. Stayed on the 7th floor and the view was amazing. The staff were all really polite and helpful, special shout out to Cher (I hope that's the correct spelling) who checked us in.

1. Location is top notch. Just beside metro station and well connected 2. Service and security is also very good and commendable 3. The reason for a 4 star rating is the breakfast. Though i should tell you that it is no less , but the somehow i felt the options were a bit limited. I mean with other chains of of calibre, i have had better breakfast options . We had the best dining experience thanks to Florencia! She gave amazing wine and dessert recommendations, was super attentive, sweet, and made us feel truly taken care of. The hotel is good location. However does not meet normal Marriott standards. Feels like a cheap two star hotels. The bed is ok but infrastructure is old. During the stay, it is strong wind outside and all the windows are shaking creating noise all night … only recommend to stay if weather is good or you need to be next to station.

Won’t pick this hotel anymore, running out of slipper and dental kit. The cups are dirty , only the housekeeping supervisor is nice and kind and wishes to change the bin for us on the next day.

Too bad I didn't get much help from a staff member at the counter the first time. A man took over and fixed it properly. It's a fantastic view and looks great!

The plates smell of egg. The seating area in level 1 cloth seats needs cleaning customers hair left. Great location and friendly staff and good quality building. Good quality is not great and breakfast choices are very limited. Management needs to take some quick actions to the above.

It’s a great hotel, friendly staff, comfortable. But unfortunately I slept quite bad because of noise in the corridor.

10 mins walk from train station, room is very clean with kettle, tea and coffee provided. Staff is very friendly.

We had a really good stay at the James this weekend. A group of friends and I visited Rotterdam for the weekend, this was the perfect base. I very useful serve yourself food court in the hotel allows you to access food and drinks 24 hours. The rooms we large, comfortable and well furnished. Overall a great trip, great value and would visit again.

An OK hotel I visit often on business travel. Restaurant for dinner is surprisingly good and the staff there are also polite and mostly attentive. Breakfast is mediocre with something that pretends to be scrambled eggs but most probably came from powder in a bag. Some of the rooms are in bad need of renovation. The air in the rooms is quite dusty as I guess the carpets haven't been properly cleaned...

Nice hotel. Unfortunately for me the pace in which the staff run around the bar even when not busy shows a lack of experience and ruins a relaxed environment. The young bar manager seems to have his staff on edge. Not a pleasant bar to sit at even with low traffic.

I am so satisfied with my New Year stay that I found all the "Van der Vlak" hotels in Europe for my future trips.

If you're ever staying in Rotterdam and have a car to get around Holland, this place is perfect. Family friendly, quiet, beside the zoo and lots of parking. Food was great, rooms are super clean and would stay again. We were visiting family all over Holland and this place looked good enough. It was better than expected.

It was nice that the superior double has a bathtub and a small fridge, though they were not listed or visible on booking page. The ground floor has a coffee corner where you find a coffee machine, a common fridge, cutlery and plates, a microwave, and the automated check in and out machine. We liked a big table in our room too. After we already left the room, we received a message that there is no fridge...

I liked everything about the hotel except the design of the shower. The shower water would get everywhere since there wasn’t a good stoppage system. But the location is great and the bedroom itself is nice.

The room was big. It is located in the heart of a shopping street. The downside is that the breakfast area is located some distance from the hotel, but it is within the same building. I went there for a conference from 26th to 27th February 2026.

Overall a nice place to stay staff was great. Hotel is a little dated but clean and everything was in good working order. Not much food very near by but easy to take a train or bus to the main part of town. No issues would stay again.

The wallpaper was pealing off the wall in a few places. Floor tiles in the bathroom were cracked. The room needed a paint job...and the TV was small. For the money I paid per night, I was expecting more than a 2 star hotel.

This location is good for younger travellers who are travelling light as there is a distance between the hotel and the nearest train station. Also the nearest amenities like grocery store and cafes located in the Eramus University campus across the road, more senior travellers may feel out of place when patronising. The cleanliness of the open areas was poor. Cleaning staff in morning close to rude well before check out time. Check out was grumpy when we asked for luggage storage. Only upside was the woman serving in the sports bar who was amazing.

You book a room at the new Fletcher Hotel Rotterdam AirPort. But is then sent to the other side (other hotel from Fletcher). Room was dirty, didn't seem cleaned. Someone was supposed to come to the room, but he never came again.

Top location, extensive breakfast choice. No refrigerator in the room. Paid parking, but you can drive in and out without restrictions.

Normally, I’m quite forgiving when it comes to the cheapest hostel in town, but this one had some issues with cleanliness and with how the staff handled issues. Although they were clearly trying their best, they didn’t seem able to get the situation under control.

Suggest to visit only if you want to feel the life as a homeless or poor. Facilities and location itself may not be the real problem, but the people living there and around the hostel may be.

I booked a single room for myself. I arrived early so gave them my luggage to put in their storage room, to my bad luck it was stored on the top shelf, with sharp edges (there is a padding usually, but on this specific shelf they put my bag on it was not there! so the sharp edge pierced through my suitcase and create a nice hole in it! Short and comfortable stay. Staff are attentive, and the hotel's interior is sophisticated and bright. Love the interior additions of the Delft Blue glassware and Ikea. Handy for people with a car, with free parking and immediate access to the highway.
