It's far from the city, so you can only drive by yourself. Parking is available in front of the hotel, and everyone skips the parking fee.

Perfect stay at this beautiful hotel We enjoyed every aspect of our stay ar Grand Hotel Karel V! It was relaxing, quiet, a beautiful setting, fantastic location, excellent service, impeccably decorated and maintained and overall deserving of the 5 stars! We had the opportunity to dine at the Michelin Star restaurant Karel V, and is was absolutely outstanding as well! We look forward to returning.

Absolutely super - it's not a cheap option, but for the utter serenity of the place coupled with staff who will happily go the extra mile to help you, it is wonderful. Thoroughly recommendable!

Lovely Stay A warm welcome on arrival. Lovely room in a separate building to the main one. Nice gardens and view from the room. Access to the spa included, but the pool was out of use both days. Charged extra by accident when checking out, but recitifed when phoned.

Very nice and "venerable" hotel but also a bit "old fashioned". Great rooms, even better restaurants and breakfast! Restaurant prices in the Michelin -＞ $$$$. The location is great, right on the edge of the center.

Trying so hard to be ubercool and in many ways it is. I liked a lot of the art and style. Breakfast was odd though. Random sugary cereals but hot breakfast only has one of - beans, mushrooms, sausages, bacon and rotate it per day. On the other hand vodka and tomato juice available to make a Bloody Mary?!?

The coffee machines stop working after couple of persons using it. There is no computer available to use in case you need to check a train ticket when you have a broken phone by accident. The ladies at the front were not helpful when I requested a computer, they got easily stressed and I need it to fix my issue by myself.

Excellent hotel with excellent service. Cadius from front desk is very helpful and provide lot of advice for our family to travel in city. Everything is perfect in hotel.

Transportation is very convenient, buses and trains are just downstairs from the hotel. 20 minutes walk to Utrecht city center. The downside is that there is no closet.

An absolutely stunning hotel! The experience was flawless from start to finish. The menu is refined and delicious, and the service is beyond exceptional with a highly trained, kind, and attentive staff at all times. The bathrooms were spotless, and the towels wonderfully soft. I truly enjoyed my two day stay here and will definitely come back soon.

Great location for either a city trip or training purposes. Hotel with large rooms, superb service, and good continental breakfast.

The area around the hotel is very nice and easily reachable by bus from the city centre. Breakfast is good enough for quick travelling, service is friendly. What we didn't like - there is no soap at the sink, that's just unhygienic. And the door handle of the front door opens exactly into the door handle of the toilet door - you can clench you fingers if you want to open the door widely.

We stayed here 2 nights and it was wonderful! The room was nice and clean and had some really nice decor. We stayed in the garden room and had our own area of the garden with a picnic table. The staff was very helpful also. I highly recommend this place!

Fantastic central location in Utrecht - walking distance to everything with beautiful views of the Oudegracht. We stayed in The Study, a large 'medium' room with excellent facilities. Hotel was very family friendly, (we travelled with a 2 year old) - a family suite is available but it was fully booked when we were there. A dutch/continental style breakfast was served in the bright reception/dining...

We stayed here as a couple for one night. At arrival we were very nicely welcomed. The room was cosy, with a very nice view to the canal and other buildings. I did not enjoy the floor in the bathroom though, and the mattress and the pillows were very soft. Overall I do recommend this hotel.

Everything about our stay was fantastic. The rooms are great and have been designed really nicely. They're clean and spacious - you might even get a cracking view of the canal outside. The location is a solid 10/10; close enough to the action for it to be convenient but not too close that it's loud. Staff were incredibly nice.

Nice hotel but it could improve. Rooms are big but during the night you can hear the tv from the next room and the floor is of wood and the steps of other gests were a little bit annoying. Breakfast is nice, very simple but good enough.

I stayed here for 3 nights during the week as a short holiday, staying in the budget double room (which was a twin bed). There is definitely room for improvement, the door to my bathroom didn't fall flush to the floor (expected from a budget room) and the complementary breakfast doesn't have a great choice with cereal, sandwich filling, and croissants. Location is excellent, our room was on the top floor with a wonderful view over Utrecht. The bath is spacious enough for 2 persons.

This review is about the hotel; the restaurant was closed at the time because of corona. Doesn't get any better than this when it comes to location. Nice old building, but modern inside. Spacious, bright rooms. Very friendly staff, but because of corona staff was only available during check-in and check-out (morning and late afternoon) so services were a bit limited.

Simple is a great restaurants, we tried the 5 courses menu. All the dishes were incredible tasty and well prepared. Interesting use of different ingredients and presentations. The wine selection also is really good one, accordingly to the dishes that you will try. Because it was my birthday, they surprised me with an extra sweet treats. Fully recommended if you want to celebrate something special.

Stayed 6 nights at Hotel-Chao and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A short walk from Utrecht centraal, the location is rather accessible with many supermarkets nearby. The room was well-maintained and equipped with all the necessary amenities (hair dryer, soap, heater, fridge, kettle, towels). They can also be easily reached through Whatsapp for assistance throughout the day.

This small hotel is an hidden gem in terms of location, hospitality and price of course . If you are looking for something modern this is not your place. The same when you have problems with stairs. Some very nice shops and restaurants are close by.

I had an amazing 3 days here... the price/quality is fine, you get what you pay for. I travel a lot and in total I lived for more then 2 years in hostels all over the world... The Stone hostel is the most authentic en genuine hostel where I have ever been. I will come back after they renovated the place! Cheers! and have fun!

A very nice experience! Stone hostel is what you would expect when you think about a nice hostel! Even if not very big, it is very welcoming, cozy and well kept. Is clean, the kitchen is fully equipped and there is also a dishwasher! Free coffee and tea all day. Staff very kind and helping! A lovely place. Not the most comfortable I'll grant you that. the facilities are clean but old. The staff is nice and there's pretty much everything you need available for green there's 3 PCs, printer, coffee/tea at all times. It's good, just a bit old.

A typical hostel, lots of travellers. What sets this hostel apart is 1, the location and 2, the staff. They were really helpful and let me store my bike and trailer in the garage free of charge!

The location is but odd, in the middle of nowhere, but the hotel is great. The room (the bathroom in particular) is big and clean, the breakfast was great, and you enjoy the jacuzzi and hamman in the morning. Highly recommended

A warm welcome at a very clean hotel. The hotel is a bit oddly located in the middle of an industrial estate, but that makes it very quick and easy to reach from the A2 motorway. Plenty of (electric) bicycles are available, and the Vinkeveen and Loodrecht lakes are within easy reach. The hotel is clean and completely up-to-date. We come here often and will definitely continue to do so.

The hotel next to the highway is also the cheapest hotel on the whole trip. The parking lot is large. If you drive, you don't have to worry about parking problems. It's probably closer to the original countryside. The room is full of flies and mosquitoes. The cleaning is perfunctory. You can see at a glance that the sink and toilet are not cleaned. But the little surprise is that I didn't buy milk...

Very nice hotel, quiet and comfortable. It takes more than 20 minutes to drive to Finkefen. I like it!

The furnishings were ok, but could be more modern.

The bathroom was stinky and not well clean. We had to buy something for the smell. The bathroom is very small and the sink is in a bad position for tall people. Everything else is ok. Near the hotel you can find 74 and 77 lines to reach the city center. It takes 15 minutes.

Surprised with extra costs when booking. The email showed that it was less than they claimed. But yes, no one speaks Dutch in the Netherlands anymore. Only poor guest worker English. Paid and otherwise fine room but I will not come back here.
