Fable Auckland gets a lot right. The rooms are genuinely lovely: bright, modern, and a very decent size by city-hotel standards. It feels considered rather than cramped, and there’s a calm, stylish vibe once you’re inside.

That calm, however, depends entirely on which way your room faces. If you’re on Queen Street, prepare to be woken by either enthusiastic late-night revellers or the street cleaner making his very thorough rounds at around 4am. The lack of effective double glazing is… noticeable.

The gym exists, but only just. It’s on the very small side and better described as a quick cardio pit stop than somewhere you’d plan a proper workout.

One unexpected quirk: the artwork. Ours was bolted on slightly uneven. A small thing, yes - but if you have even mild OCD, it may quietly ruin your evening.

Overall, a stylish and comfortable stay with good-sized rooms, but light sleepers (and symmetry lovers) should choose their room carefully.

Won’t do it again; with all the other option in Auckland Queen Street area, it’s not worth it

Excellent location, lovely clean room and very nice breakfast.

Great hospitality the rooms is well designed the breakfast was delicious and for me the most important thing is the bed it was comfy! Recommended
