Reviews
This weekend, my girlfriend and I decided to stay at Hotel Filip when we were visiting Oslo. We booked the hotel through Priceline, which was a separate issue, but also a mistake. When we arrived, it was late at night and -10°C. To our dismay, we were stranded outside the hotel since the hotel had never sent us the required text code and there were no instructions prior to arriving that we needed such a code to enter the lobby. There was a customer service phone number on the door, which we called three times, with no answer. We tried phoning again 20 minutes later after trying to get help from Priceline (which they couldn’t help us with) and the hotel finally answered. The hotel manager was able to let us into the lobby, but it took an additional 20 minutes for him to figure out how to get us into our room (there are no staff physically present at the hotel). Overall, the ordeal last approximately 1.5hr, most of which we were outside in the cold. What bothered me the most in the end, was the lack of urgency, empathy, or general customer service once the situation was resolved. He simple asked “is the room clean?” And when I responded yes, he said “okay then have a good night” and promptly hung up. I have never experienced such a disregard for the customer experience and general wellbeing of another person from a stranger on the street, let alone from one working in the hospitality industry.
If you are arriving at night or in the cold, I STRONGLY recommend against staying at this hotel. This situation was not only uncomfortable and frustrating, but potentially dangerous.
