Reviews
Location is stunning, an old castle/palace + outbuildings in a beautiful park. There is spa and a small swimming pool in one of the buildings - i didn't have much time to enjoy it unfortunately.
Rooms are big and clean, but I'd rather have a double than twin beds. My room was in one of the outbuildings.
Breakfast ok. We had a supper booked as part of the programme- there were some problems there (not enough vegetarian options) but it was quickly resolved.
After arrival, we added a half-board option, assuming there was one main restaurant. Only afterwards did we find out that half-board meals are served in a separate restaurant next to the main building — the same one used for breakfast — while the à la carte restaurant in the Palace offers a completely different (and much better) menu. This is not clearly communicated anywhere, which was disappointing.
We also visited the pool and sauna area. Unfortunately, not all the showers in the sauna were working — only the option with an ice-cold bucket of water. Downstairs near the lockers, there was only extremely hot water, so cooling off properly wasn’t possible. In the men’s changing room there were no free lockers, so we had to leave our things in the women’s area.
Breakfast was good and adequate for the category. Dinner, on the other hand, was very poor. On the second evening, most dishes were made from minced meat; if you didn’t want that, the only alternative was gnocchi with mushrooms — served as both a main course and the only non-meat option. There was no fresh fruit, only some jelly-type dessert served in small glasses. Overall, dinners were disappointing and definitely not worth the half-board option.
Overall impression — rather average. The total price for accommodation with half-board was relatively high considering that this is not a particularly sought-after destination, so guests do not really get the value one would expect for the money.
Wonderful estate located in a beautiful park. I would be happy to come back even in my opinion hotel should rather be rated as 3-3,5 star. Tasteful breakfast, but dinners were so-so. Also rooms need improvement: new beds and instaling a frigde. Very nice people especially at the reception and great service, but still some improvements are needed.
