Lunar Guest House in Porto

I got one of the top floor rooms for one night. I paid 49 £ cash when I arrived and my stay was positive.

Pros 👍

■ Clean room equipped with AC.
■ There was extra cover inside the wardrobe.
■ Good restaurants and souvenir stores around the location.

Cons 👎

■ So small sink
■ The room was small.
■ A bit noisy, but it's also central.

We enjoyed our time there. The hotel has enough amenities, is close to restaurants, markets, churches, and tourist attractions. The people there were kind and respectful.

Two disadvantages: too many stairs and the noise if you sleep on the reception floor.

It was renovated from an old 3-storey building, with 10+ rooms and a small garden. As there is no elevator, it might be bit difficult to go up to the third floor with bulky luggage bags, or you may leave them in the common room on the first floor. In few minutes walk, you can go to the Ponte do Infante, there you may have a good view of the Douro river and the Ponte do Luiz I.

Great place, clean, well located, good wifi. The shower gets cold for 2md shower so advised to wait 1 hr between showers

The hotel has a great location and the room was very clean. It was a great experience.

The room was fine, all white. When I booked, a 400 RMB security deposit was charged to my credit card. The booking platform said the hotel would refund it. When I asked the hotel staff, they said they didn't know and hadn't collected it offline, so I didn't know if it would be refunded. Also, after checking out that morning, I discovered my wallet was missing and immediately went back to look for it. Knowing it was highly unlikely to be found, I just wanted to take a look, giving up hope. Upon arrival, two staff members said the room had been thoroughly disturbed and nothing was left. I asked if I could go in and see if I had dropped anything under the bed, but they wouldn't let me. Then they said a new guest had checked in. I knocked on the door and asked if I could take a look, but the two staff members also said no. One of the women, seeing my concern, offered me a glass of water, which I appreciated, but I still don't understand why they didn't allow me to.

Location is good. Room is clean but you can hear everything from outside. Very basic amenities.

I had a predicament where I needed a room at 2am in the evening, but the lovely lady at the counter was still willing to offer me one, at a rate quite good , even tho we had language barriers present. The live translation solved it, and she even helped me with showing me my room, which was quite lovely and clean even without prior reservation sent, at 2am. I thank this lovely place and its staff from the bottom of my heart for helping me out so much!!!

BTW this was my first time hearing seagulls even at night, it was quite fun! And a great location to explore the city from!

Easily accessible from Campanhã Bus Terminal by taking bus 207 or 400; fare is €2.50 per person and very convenient.

Most major tourist attractions are within walking distance.

The room itself was clean and tidy, equipped with both heating and air conditioning. Hairdryer is available upon request from the front desk.

The shared kitchen allows guests to boil water or prepare instant noodles and hot drinks.

Soundproofing was not ideal, but fortunately, other guests were quiet during our stay.

The location is not near any bars, so there was no disturbance from nightlife—only occasional street or traffic noise. Overall, the environment was relatively quiet.
