If you're looking for a hotel with history, stunning period decor where everything fits perfectly, this is the ideal spot. The location couldn't be better. Breakfast offers the basics but is still good
Hotel is in the city center, surrounded by shops and restos (Majestic Cafe is very near). Hotel has old world vibes (especially the bar and lobby areas), but the rooms are small. Good continental breakfast.
Everything else was great, except for the incredibly loud floor noise from the wooden floors. The creaking of the floorboards was truly extraordinary
The convenient transportation, good service, and ample breakfast were all excellent. The noise, however, was a major issue
Great location and decor. Good service and facilities. Looking forward to visiting it again.
Classically elegant, very refined, with excellent service and a great location.

The staff at front desk are very much helpful and always happy to recommend us for whatever we need help with
Will definitely come back to stay again on my future visits
Also, although we weren't able to get a reservation this time, there is a restaurant called Blind, which has an unusual concept and I think it is a space where you can experience something out of the ordinary
Everyone at the hotel was very kind to us. The location is also very convenient for sightseeing, and everything is within walking distance
Everything was perfect. If I had to say one thing, it would be that the heating equipment was a bit lacking because the facility is old.
Beautiful hotel! Wonderfully helpful staff, and a delicious breakfast! 5 stars
Even gave us a white rose at breakfast for women’s day.
It is a kind, beautiful, and clean hotel, perfect for a family trip. It is conveniently located close to the main tourist attractions

The hotel location was a little hard to find at the beginning. The services was excellent for both the front desk attendants. A little far from tourist areas I like the hotel a lot because of the excitement services
The room was clean and had everything we needed. The staff were wonderful and helped with parking. The hotel is in a good area, loads of restaurants and cafes nearby and easy to walk to anywhere in 10-15 minutes
This is hotel is within walking distance of most attractions in Porto. There is also a public outdoor parking across the street which is free on weekends and at night. Great breakfast, impeccable service
The room is perfect with the view outside and comfortable inside. The location of the hotel is very convenient to go to the sights. The employees are professionals. Thanks for everything.
Very good hotel in the center of Porto! The room is a good size, the bed is super comfortable and the room is clean in general, I would definitely stay there again.
Stayed in this hotel in 2019. It was called Best Western then. Now, still the same quality. Professional ladies in reception desk.

It's strange that this hotel has 4 stars. The pros are the location, the cleanliness, and they cleaned and changed the towels every day!
And now the cons
We had a great stay at Editory House Ribeira Porto. The location is perfect—just a 2-minute walk to the riverfront, making it ideal for exploring the area and enjoying the views
The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free. The room itself was very spacious and clean, which made our stay comfortable. Overall, a highly convenient and pleasant place to stay in Porto
Breakfast was great too, though the hot food was never hot. The complimentary port and pastel de nata first day was such a lovely surprise. Also quiet (I had internal room)
Rooms were very clean and the staff was so nice. Really enjoyed my stay. The location was ideal for us first time visitors.
Gem of a hotel with really friendly staff and great amenities

Only nice about this hotel is location , very central , but room standard is poor , bathroom is dirty , towels are old , need replacement, pillows are too flat , shower has no indication for hot or cold , and water temperature rising very slower , had to take a cold water shower , thinking the shower was broken , mini fridge is so noisy , couldn’t sleep with the sounds , housing keeping standards is...
Consider also Porto is a city which you can easily visit by feet, so the hotels location is not so important;
- Rooms: very conformable and well provided with all your needs: the boiler, the minibar, different bathroom products
The Hotel has a very good location. Walking distance to all the spots in the city center. Also close to many restaurants at walking distance. The WiFi could have been better.
Really convenient location, good breakfast on their incredible rooftop overlooking the city!!
The beds are really really comfortable and the staff is kind and available.
Outstanding experience overall!
I loved the bathroom because the shower and the overall bathroom is very big;
- Staff: awesome! All the staff is very kind and pleased to help you with any information you need;
Nice hotel. We were there for their rooftop bar but as it was rainy season, rooftop were not useful. But the room and location were excellent choic
My husband and I wanted to change the rest of our trip just to stay here longer. The staff is amazing, they bring service to whole new level. We did visit the hotel bar and again, great service
Everything has been thought out for the perfect evening experience: the passage in the kitchen, the 14-course menu to get to know Portuguese gastronomy, the accompanying booklet
The rooms were very clean. The staff was amazing. No issues with the wifi.
The facilities and environment are very clean. The swimming pool and sauna are great
Great location, friendly staff, beautiful rooms, very comfortable. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Good location away from the tourist crowds and very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely indoor pool and SPA.
The environment is great, and the location is excellent, very close to the Chapel of the Soul. The front desk service is superb! They are incredibly polite and kind! They offer welcome drinks and mini egg tarts.
When you check in on the same day, you may encounter many people arriving at the same time. Having only one front desk guy will test everyone's patience. After all, even the Italians behind you can't stand it (ha)
The room is very simple but the space is quite large. The location is a bit remote but it is a relatively quiet area. There is a beautiful outdoor atrium shared with the hotel of the same brand next door
In other words, there is a very enthusiastic guy who will greet you during breakfast. The overall atmosphere is good, and the people who live here are also quite special
Friendly recept; good communication skills! Also, the place is quite accessible by public transport
Elegant environment and convenient transportation.

The room was well equipped, clean, and there was a small balcony to sit outside with drinks. Our room didn't have the roadside view
Beautiful hotel in the historic centre of Porto. Friendly and kind staff. Excellent breakfast
Great location, great people at the front desk, kind of hard to find, we took a whole to realize where the entrance was, and Uber Eats couldn't find us either.
Rooms are ok, good place to stay
The hotel is in a good location within walking distance to many historic places, restaurants, and train station. The restaurant right next door is lively
1829 is one of the nicest hotels we’ve ever stayed in. They did a wonderful drop working with the pen and stationary downstairs (open since 1829) to retain the aesthetics and character of the building
There are no cars allowed, so you will need to be dropped off around the corner, but totally worth it. Room was quite large by European standards and the bed was comfortable. Staff was good, property was clean
Would totally recommend this hotel, central, quiet, amazing retro memorabilia at every turn, rooms excellent, staff so friendly and kind and incredible value for money
Look no further if you are visiting Porto absolute gem
Staff professional and efficient
Great central location just off Avenida dos Aliados, walking distance to everything (5min walk to Trindade station where the direct metro to the airport goes from, 15min walk to Largo di Lapa where the tour buses all leave town for the Douro Valley, 20min walk to the river)
Also, the cost of the very nearby parking was 25% more than the hotel had quoted us, after the discount for staying at the hotel. Still, even with those h=ccups, I would probably return to the Pao de Acucar
The staff is very friendly and helpful, but alas, the technical people who should have acted on our request to open the safe so that we can use it and improve the WiFi reception in the room never did

Our experience was entirely positive. The location was perfect for visit being in the heart of Ribeira. The facilities fully met our expectations- with a comfortable room and bed and an excellent shower
Great hotel in a very convenient location, especially for Rangers FC fans as it’s close to the square. The reception staff were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay
Hotel location is excellent. Easy to access the famous iconic bridge in Porto. Service is wonderful. Interior design and decor in stylish. Breakfast is good. Many restaurants around. Very enjoyable stay in this hotel.
The breakfasts were first class with a good range of dishes available. And importantly, the staff were always helpful from check-in through to respinding to the various small requests we had during our 3 night stay
The hotel's decor was nice; I saw it while passing by. However, the room's interior decor was just average. I had to get my toothbrush and slippers from the front desk; they wouldn't deliver them if I called
The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. There was some noise from the street outside, but overall it was a really good stay and I’d happily return

The apartment itself was very well equipped and had all of the things we would need (they even have a beach towel and toys to take to the beach if you have children with you)
We found free parking for our rental cars and took Ubers to the center or to places like the exquisite Serralves museum and gardens (5 minutes away)
This apartment was by far the most beautiful place I have ever stayed at. We were right by the ocean and I honestly couldn’t get enough of the view
The cleaning staff were extremely nice too, especially Tanya, who was able to talk to us in English with no problems and even recommended us places to go to such as Braga and where to get the sightseeing buses
We had a problem with our suitcases as well and she got them fixed too which was a big relief. Overall we had a great time here and if I ever come back to Porto I would without a doubt stay here again
The breakfast was lovely however I wouldn’t mind if there were more options but still we were satisfied with it. One thing to keep in mind if you are planning to stay here is that there are stairs

The staff was dedicated (especially Carlos, really helpful, friendly, and attentive - we enjoyed discussing with him!)
Around the hotel you have different restaurants; their quality vary from very good (Taberna Londrina) to better-to-avoid (quite a bunch), there are also some supermarkets which need a bit of a walk before getting to them (15-20 min) but always great to know you have some not too far...
A wonderful place to stay! Modern, tastefully furnished rooms with air conditioning, a small kitchenette in the hallway, and a very beautiful bathroom. The service was always polite and charming!
when passing by it, it was obvious - from the sound through the door - what was happening in one room) and easy to get to due to its close access to the tram (which can get us into the city)
It is a excellent hotel and good in price in Europe. But it is a little bit far away from the city centre. If you want to to have a good and silent sleeping place
Although people in Porto appreciate a lot gathering in the evening to discuss and drink, the neighbourhood is not too noisy during the middle of the night
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, it is spacious, clean, quiet (at least at the floor we were; otherwise at another floor, it was much less quiet

We could not have been more pleased with this hotel. We have traveled all over Europe and this may have been our favorite place that we have ever stayed. Clean, great location, amazing value, comfortable
It's rare that you see someone who enjoys their work so much, knows their customers so well, and creates such a positive vibe. He lightened our day each time we saw him
The Bastardo restaurant was superb for sushi lovers. Our server, Gabriela(?) recalled our wine order from the previous evenings
The front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. Super responsive to all of our questions, A big shout out to Pedro
Ideal location, wonderful staff, very clean! What’s not to like?! A great location, parking available a few minute walk away from the hotel
€24 for 24hour; parking is an art in some of the carpark facilities in Portuguese cities- this was probably one of the easier ones if you’re happy to play bumper cars 😆 Hotel is central - close to main attractions, quieter streets and local transport

The first bite left an impression on me. The experience of eating pizza for the first time. After eating it, you will unconsciously start to question what the long pizza-like things you have eaten before are
They were very professional, courteous and quick to respond to our requests. The room was spotless and breakfast was delicious. I would absolutely recommend Castelo Santa Catarina to my friends and family
Amazing!! No elevator in castle part but it was great!!The restaurant was the best dinner we had in all of Portugal.
Beautiful unique property . A glimpse into the past. The pictures on the website are accurate. Very attentive, gracias staff. Great stay .
Staying at Castelo Santa Catarina was a charming experience, a classic castle full of character and beautiful details. However, the breakfast was average, and the Wi-Fi signal was weak even near the reception
The onsite restaurant seemed good and they accommodated us inspite of having an event but the next day they couldn’t serve us due to staff shortage

Very good! There was just one small flaw: I rented a room for two people and there were only towels for one.
The hotel was spotless, and the staff was very friendly on the day of the power outage. The room was quite spacious, except there was barely enough room to walk between the footboard and the wall
In general the hotel is very good. You have to sort out the good and the bad, the good thing is its location on a main street but out of the crowd, the breakfast is very rich and varied
The bad thing is that although it was clean there was humidity in the room and when you passed it you had to breathe normally
Everything else was fantastic!
It was in a good location close to the city centre with lots of historical sites. The space was a very big for 5 people and there were three separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms
Luggage unfriendly because there is a long staircase. Also the room is not the same as the photos in trip.com. However, the room cleaning service is very good.
Perfect location, good service; Room is not spacious, although the Triple room we have can accommodate 3 people without feeling overcrowded, just tight
Did not try their breakfast, as we prefer to try different food every morning, and there are many options around the hotel
The attitude is very good, the room is average, and the breakfast is good.
Excellent location in the center of the city, near train and metro station, no drinking water, soap and shampoo inside the room, bring your own amenities, the weak point is the hotel reception is on the first floor and no elevator from ground floor to first floor (but between floor inside hotel, the elevator is available)
Hotel with a great location.., but very simple.
Good breakfast.., small room.., but functional.
Small double bed..!
It has a giant staircase to access the front desk.
It’s a place for sleeping and breakfast only.

Hope to be able to stay here again and highly recommend!
It was in the heart of Historic section. Once inside you felt transformed to a luxury world . This is usually hard to find in most touristy cities. I also loved the Bed and breakfast approach and the Cousy atmosphere
There was nothing that didn’t stand out! The service, however, was particularly exceptional. Wonderful room with balcony overlooking the charming street scene and fabulous view. Delicious cooked to order breakfast
Absolutely beautiful hotel right in the centre of Porto, within walking distance of all the main sights. The building is ancient with antique furniture, comfortable beds and quaint terrace/patio
The property is so well decorated and right in the city center. The staff gave us recommendations and checked in with us beforehand so we felt like it was a truly special experience

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rex. The hotel is in a beautiful heritage building, but the facilities are modern and comfortable. The staff was helpful and welcoming
Quiet, modernized rooms in traditional building. Limited secure car parking under the building. About 10 minutes walk to the restaurant/business district, a bit farther to the historic district
Beautiful, historical, helpful, and comfortable easy parking, lovely lobby and perfect room close restaurants and 5 min walk to metro for easy access to the city!
Great small hotel with everything we needed. On site parking, a lift and a good breakfast. Comfortable room and a good bathroom.
It's located in a quieter area, but a very short walk to all the action
Overlooks a nice park, which unfortunately was under renovation when we visited, but should be great when it reopens

A cozy hotel, superbly located less than a minute's walk from Clérigos Tower. The double bed was quite small, but the twin room boasted a huge bed. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive
There's a really practical kitchen available, and the rooms are quiet and clean!
Stayed in a private room. Amazing view. Room was clean and secure. Great location! I would definitely stay here again!
Small room.
Need to climb stairs.
Location is very good.
She also named me a lot of place where to get something to eat - and it was delicious! I left hours before breakfast time but they gave me something without even asking for!

The only disadvantage was the pillows. Cleaned every day! Very helpful staff always willing to answer your questions and provide their services
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was outstanding. Tea and coffee facilities in the room.

An excellent quality hotel perfectly appointed near Trindade Metro station and a short walk downtown. Very comfortable, spacious, clean rooms with modern bathroom. The room was cleaned and towels changed daily
Very clean and central hotel, you can walk to the center and bars and restaurants, right in front of the hotel is the Trindade metro stop from which you can go to various points of the city and other nearby towns such as the Vila do Conde outlet, also from the metro you can go to Gaia and its port wine cellars
The location of the hotel is everything, close to Trindade metro station and a few steps from Aliados Avenue, Sao Bento station, Rua Santa Catarina, and many more. Do not hesitate do stay at this hotel and enjoy Porto
