Hotel St. George by Nina in Dublin

Wish I could give a good review because I’ve stayed here before in a nicer room but to be honest it wasn’t even busy and they put us in a kip of a room on the very bottom floor. As soon as I got in the room I could smell gear burning from outside and smoke from outside. Room was dark and dim and the room was a kip to be honest. I will say the shower was great and bathroom nice but thats about it. Also the fire alarm was randomly going off. When I went to reception I wasn’t given a good explanation or even suggested if I could change rooms or anything. On top of this the walls are paper thin and even if they weren’t two guests banging upstairs sounded like they were breaking the floors and screaming off the top of their lungs and the staff did nothing about it. May aswell have stayed in a brothel to be honest. Went on for four or five hours at least. If you do stay here dont let them put you downstairs. Not fit to be a hotel down there. View is literally facing out into a staircase

Second-worst hotel in this price point that I've stayed in in the past 7-10 years.

Pros: close to downtown attractions and transit; bus that comes from airport stops right out front.

Cons: very very "tired" rooms and premises.

We stayed here two consecutive weekends and thus had two separate rooms. Both rooms did not have direct elevator/lift access: first room was in the basement and only accessible by stairs; 2nd room was on the 6th floor, but the lift only went to the 5th floor, with a stairwell to the 6th floor.

Both rooms were very noisy. The windows and walls were thin so you could hear noise from neighboring rooms and people outside.

There is no A/C, so the rooms were very hot. Windows opened a little bit to let in cold air, which only exacerbated the noise issue.

Lots of deferred maintenance: old stained carpets, worn/beat up fixtures, doors that didn't latch, signs of water damage, and exposed wires etc.

TV showed options for Netflix/Youtube/external connections, but these did not work, and front desk confirmed that they are not available. TV had a small selection of channels, half of which were music channels.

We had paid for a double bed, but one of our rooms merely had 2 singles pushed together, so there was a major sag in the middle. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the pillows were flat.

In short, it had more of an old B&B vibe than a legit hotel. Ownership is obviously cheaping out. Several hotels on the riverfront were the same price and were obviously nicer.

The garbage is very poor, the service is very good, I will never stay again
