Reviews
We also had dinner at Forbes Street by Gareth Mullins, and were incredibly impressed by both the quality of the food and the impeccable service. Every detail was carefully considered, and the wine pairing complemented our meal perfectly. It was a fantastic dining experience from start to finish.
The spa and facilities are absolutely gorgeous and pleasantly uncrowded, which made for a wonderfully relaxing experience. Everything surpassed our expectations, and we left feeling completely refreshed.
I will definitely be back!
There’s such a calming atmosphere everywhere, we spent time in the pool and sauna area, and I couldn’t have left feeling more relaxed.
The food was also amazing The Forbes Street restaurant is on another level, highly recommended!!
A special mention has to go to Derek, the manager, and also Sam who were exceptional. They made our stay so straightforward and genuinely went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect and that we enjoyed every moment. You can really tell when someone cares about the guest experience, and it shows here along with all front of house included.
We also booked the spa and did the 30–30 back massage and facial, which was amazing. The spa staff were impeccable — professional, relaxing, and made the whole experience feel very special.
The hotel is in a brilliant location, with plenty around to do and see, yet it still feels very private and peaceful. Overall, our experience was a solid 10/10 and we will definitely be back again. Cheers to the whole team for such a memorable stay — keep up the great work!

The girl who actually served us was great, and I have no issues whatsoever with her. She was attentive, came over to let us know there was going to be a delay on one of the things we ordered, left us alone when it was appropriate, she was fantastic. However.
We arrived with no reservation on a Friday evening and, as such, we were seated where they could fit us - that's totally understandable and we weren't looking for anything special so we didn't mind sitting next to the servers' station. I was fully expecting to be turned away in fact, so I was pretty grateful to be seated at all. What we DID mind, was that one of the male servers apparently couldn't be bothered taking one step forward and standing in front of the shelf to take down menus, and insisted on standing to my right, reaching over me and our table, and taking the menus from the shelf to my left. Any restaurant server worth his or her salt (and really, any person if they have any common sense) knows that you NEVER reach over a customer unless it absolutely can't be helped, but this guy doesn't seem to have been taught that. Nor did he seem to mind that his groin was at my head height while he was leaning over me. It made me extremely uncomfortable and, while I would definitely go back to Milanos (and get another portion of that bundt cake) I think I'd be heading across the river to their Clarion Quay branch where hopefully all of the staff have been taught basic manners.
The problems were slow service and forgetful staff. My friend ordered a second drink during dinner, 15 minutes later the waiter passed our table and asked if she still wanted it as he had forgotten about it. We were staying for dessert and both ordered at the same time, 5 minutes later my friend's arrived and I was informed they were out of what I wanted. I changed my order and 10 minutes later what I changed to finally showed up, burnt.
Overall not a good experience.
