Hotel RU136 in Seoul

Close to market and convenient

This was my first time staying in Seoul, and I chose a hotel that offered great value for money.

Location: It's on the same island as the city center, and it takes about 30 minutes to get to all the major shopping districts. If you turn left out of the hotel, you'll find Line 3 of the subway, and if you turn right, you'll find Line 6. There are two convenience stores nearby, CU and GS25, which are very convenient for buying things when you come back at night. We landed around midnight, and a taxi from Incheon Airport to the hotel cost about 230 RMB and took about 65 minutes.

Service: There's one front desk staff member who speaks Chinese, which made communication very easy. The hotel doesn't automatically provide toiletries or disposable slippers. You can buy toiletries at the front desk, I think it was 2000 Korean Won for two people. Disposable slippers are free but you need to ask the front desk for them. The hotel also offers luggage storage.

Also, we stayed for 3 nights. We had originally booked 1 night in a deluxe double room and 2 nights in a standard double room, meaning we would have had to switch rooms mid-stay. However, the front desk was very kind and upgraded our room, so we stayed in a deluxe double room for all three nights. It was very comfortable and quite spacious, highly recommended.

Facilities: The bed wasn't very big. The room had a refrigerator and a clothes iron.

The only downsides:

The bathroom and shower lights and the extractor fan are on the same switch, so the fan is always on and a bit noisy.

The hotel's toilet paper seemed to be recycled, and the quality wasn't great.

The bathroom mirror was a bit low, not really suitable for people of Chinese height.

The place was really taken care of and the staff were really nice and welcoming! The room I had was wonderful and it even included a tub (surprised me)! It’s also quite close to 2 train stations so commuting wasn’t bad. Would absolutely stay here again.

Super friendly staff, very convenient location, two train stations nearby, alot of eateries and cafes and even local market. I will stay at this hotel again. If you love to run, you can try running to Bukhansan, about 7ish km to reach there.

Spacious, large and clean hotel room and very nice and helpful service. I highly recommend!

This hotel is suitable for a couple of nights stay in Seoul. Quite far from the city centre. A minimum number of amenities. They do not serve breakfast. The rooms are clean though.

While the hotel is not located near the bustling area of myeongdong and hongdae, it provided me with a more local experience. Hotel is about 40 mins by public transport to Hongdae.

There are many Korean food options below (no more than 5 minutes away) - kBBQ, oxhead soup and bean sprout soup. It is also located between two CU which is one of the convenience store franchise in Korea. There are buses nearby that you can take to explore other activities such as hiking. There is a market which I didn’t explore.

There’s also a roof top where you can enjoy the view of the vicinity.

I will definitely return to this hotel.
