The stay at Sol Príncipe in Málaga was fairly mediocre overall. The hotel feels quite dated and some of the facilities were disappointing during the stay. The main outdoor pool was closed, which was one of the reasons for choosing the hotel, and the indoor pool had very limited opening hours. Parking was also frustratingly expensive, especially considering there is free parking just outside the hotel...

The service was great. The hotel was clean and modern. Got a room on the ground floor with the pool view. Didn't get much sunshine inside the room or on the terrace. The food was delicious, really enjoyed the variety, especially ice cream. The pool was a little bit cold both outside and inside and the sauna smelled a bit poorly. Otherwise the stay was great.

I ate in the adjoining sister hotel where I had been advised by other guests that the food was of a higher standard. I was very pleased with the quality and variety of meals. It was however disappointing to see many guests wearing pool-side clothes to dinner.

The hotel was nice, but the food at the buffet was almost the same every day. It would have been better with more variety and a larger selection, especially for a 4-star hotel. I told the waitresses that there was not a lot of vegetarian or vegan foods available and the labelling was poor. The head waitress spoke to the chef and he has been preparing me vegan meals and has even given me soy yoghurt for dessert. We were three birdwatchers from Norway who needed a place to stay near the airport. The plane landed after midnight, so we needed a hotel with a 24-hour reception. Me and my boyfriend just got back from staying here a few days. The hotel was lovely rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable even though it was two singles pushed together. The only negative was that the air-con was on the loud side but the hotel itself was quiet (you couldn’t hear people in the rooms next door or above). We paid to have breakfast included and definitely wasn’t disappointed...

A little gem of a hotel, in a fantastic location between the beach and the town centre. We have just had a week at the Fenix Hotel, It was great. The rooms are bright airy with very comfortable beds. The meals are varied and plentiful with a fantastic breakfast. Lovely staff. We will certainly return next year.

It's been good overall...maybe a little more cleaning...but overall Remarkable..

I usually stay here as a cheaper option than Malaga when I have a flight and have never been disappointed. The staff is really lovely, polite, friendly and knowledgeable. The views from the restaurant are priceless. The hotel is really close to downtown and the metro to the airport. The rooms are quite big and comfy. Some of the mattresses are a bit too soft, but that's a minor issue.
