Galaxy Star Hostel Barcelona in Barcelona

I have never stayed in a place like this. You have to pay +2€ for the bedsheet and there was no blanket until you asked for. The room is dark, if you want to have more light, you have to ask for one lamp with 5€ deposit. You have also pay 5€ (just deposit) for the roomkey, but there is always something to keep the door opened. I mean, the key sometimes has no reason to use and anyone can get into the room even they dont have key. We could not have a good night because the staffs changed the beds of 2 french girls without asking and notice. These two were back to the room at 3a.m and got the flashlight directly our sleeping faces. Then they said sorry, but it was really totally rude not only from these girls but also from the staffs. Check in time is 13p.m. Check out time is 10:00 a.m. We were there at 11a.m and waited. 12:45p.m we received the key, they said we had to wait until 13. Okay, fine. But when we got into the room, a staff threw our bedsheets on the beds without any respect to us (their guests) and he left the room like a boss 😤. I had to choose this hostel because we were cancelled too late of the other aparment. There is no way I choose this hostel.

Weirdest and worst hostel ever. If I could give it 0 stars I would! Staff was not friendly, the place was filthy, and in an unsafe area. Rooms were not well kept. Stay away!

The whole hostel is crowded and the hygiene below acceptable standards. The 3/4 euro per day you can save in this place doesn't compensate for the poorness and unpleasant experience you are gonna have here. I've seen hundreds of hostel in my life and this was worst the worst ever. hands down.

Definitely not your first choice for your average trip. Yet, if you are on a budget, you can give it a go for some nights. We stayed in a 10-bed room. The bathroom was clean but the room was cold and dim. At times, it was smelly, maybe because of blankets. However, kitchen has all necessary stuff, location is okay and lockers had their own locks so we didn't need to buy one.

Granted you get what you pay for (which is very little), the place was barely decent. The staff not so kind (except for one guy), and they would continuously come in the bedroom to use the bathroom, open the locker right next to you or to take a shower at all hours and often wake you up. They offered many free tours, and delivered none whenever I would show up to go to one. My room was filled with old locals basically living there with little self hygiene, who would change clothes in front of your face (literally) while you were sleeping, snore so loud it's hard to describe and even fart in their sleep.
The room smelled so much like sweat 24/7 I honestly doubt there was any air left, and I woke up more than a couple times with a headache because of it.
I'm used to traveling in hostels so I actually didn't mind too much all those things, but definetly wouldn't recommend it to the average traveler.
