Hotel Lugano in Barcelona

Located near Plaza de España, diagonally across the street is Fira De Barcelona (Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina, 08004 Barcelona), a convention center, suitable for those attending trade shows. The hotel reception is friendly and helpful. To the right of the hotel entrance is a stall selling Turkish kebabs—a bit salty but incredibly delicious, €5 a serving is enough for two girls. There's a supermarket nearby selling water and fruits and vegetables. The hotel breakfast is plentiful, including Spanish ham and various fruits. Although not directly on the metro line, it's not far; just cross the street from the hotel, turn left, and you'll see the metro station, which provides easy access to the Sagrada Familia and Casa Batlló. Very convenient for tourists.

How wonderful stay in This amazing city! Pleasant hotel! Very helpful and friendly staff!!! Always very accommodating!!! Spotless room and bathroom! In the Bathroom the lack of a toilet brush it makes one a bit embarrassed though... also I need to say I really missed the option to have a kettle in the room for a hot drink,(a mini bar was available instead) nevertheless there's room service and a bar in the lobby to compensate if you don't mind to seat in the lobby! Soo much grateful that my request been honoured and was able to enjoy a soak after a long day! In London In my Studio only a shower is available and really had to ignore the sign of saving water for this time😊 You forgot your tooth brush!? No worries, the hotel got you! They make in the bathroom available tooth brush and paste, tissues and shower cap. ( A safe is available) Big wardrobe and a desk ( had double room ) and a huge bed,I could share with other 3 without even being bothered :)
Also let me tell you on 7th floor had a great view of the Majestic Art Museum! How wonderful skyline in the morning! Thank you to all ! I highly recommend!
Good transport means nearby, and lots of restaurants and shop on the same street.

We stayed at this hotel for about 5 nights and overall had a really good experience. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We don’t speak Spanish, but they communicated with us in English without any issues, which we really appreciated.

We arrived quite early on the day of check-in, and they were kind enough to accommodate a 4-hour early check-in, which was amazing and very appreciated. It took about 45 minutes for them to prepare the room, and they also offered free luggage storage while we waited.

The breakfast buffet costs €14 per person per day, which we didn’t try. Our room had a small fridge, and the bathroom and shower were clean. Towels were provided, and housekeeping was done every morning for free, which was great. The room itself was a good size. We requested a higher floor and a larger bed, and both were accommodated at no extra cost. There was also a TV, though we didn’t use it.

Our room was on the 7th floor and faced the main street, with a nice view of the hill and the art museum. The biggest downside was that our room was right next to the facilities/equipment room. Every morning around 8 am, staff would take out cleaning equipment, which could be quite noisy and wake us up.

It would’ve been nice to have at least a kettle or a small microwave in the room. Every night, I had to go down to reception to ask for hot water. One night, I was given two glasses of hot water, which unfortunately burned my hand while carrying them back to the room. On another night, they gave me a hot water flask instead. On a positive note, there were always small sweets on the reception counter, which was a nice touch.

The hotel felt safe, and access seemed well controlled—no random people hanging around. The location is a big plus: close to many attractions but still away from the more chaotic areas. Most places are within a 20-minute walk. There’s also a bus stop and a metro station less than 3 minutes from the hotel. The bus route is very convenient and takes you to many parts of the city easily. Airport buses (lines 46 and 49) are also within a 15-minute walk, which was a bonus.

One thing to note: the neighborhood directly behind the hotel is an area you might want to avoid. It’s still safe, but it has many non-Spanish stores and felt less pleasant to walk through. You might come across some unusual shops and people. That said, within 3–5 minutes of the hotel there are a few cafés and pastry shops—we especially loved Ivette’s Coffee.

All in all, it was a good stay, and despite a few minor issues, we’d recommend this place.

The hotel is conveniently located right next to a bus stop, only a 2-minute walk away. The nearest metro station is also just an 8-minute walk, making transportation quite accessible. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The front desk staff spoke English, and they were always happy to assist when I requested a kettle of hot water from the bar staff, which I really appreciated. The room itself was very spacious. Although the duvet was a bit thin, that seems to be a common issue in European hotels. The only minor drawback was that the shower drain was a bit slow. However, the air conditioning worked perfectly, making for a very comfortable stay. I highly recommend booking this hotel.

The room is too small

Lovely staff very professional and polite. Room was fine but could have had an iron. We had 2 rooms next to each other which was helpful and staff accommodated us. Great breakfast selection hot and cold lots of fruit choices and variety of hot and cold drinks and juices. Good serving staff. Nice clean hotel in great location near the metro and buses.

Another amazing stay at Lugano. Muchas Gracias Miguel, Binkee, Luis and everyone else who makes me feel at home every time I visit. Been here over dozen times and honestly they keep impressing me with their kindness and professionalism. The rooms are clean, the location is perfect to walk or take the metro. This time I stayed 2 nights and needed to do some work in the morning. Miguel helped me set up my laptop and station and before I know I found a nice cup of coffee waiting for me. These little gestures makes my day. Will be back in 10 days and can’t wait. Thank you everyone at Lugano

First time in Spain and found this charming hotel. It’s very clean, the staff is friendly & welcoming, and the value is excellent. The location is excellent and the hotel is smaller and a more intimate travel experience,
