Description

Hotel Toledano Ramblas is a 1-star budget hotel situated in the heart of Barcelona on La Rambla, offering simple accommodations with five room types including Standard Single, Double, Triple, Standard, and Deluxe rooms. The hotel provides basic amenities such as air conditioning, heating, WiFi, and 24-hour front desk service. Guests can also access free parking, luggage storage, and bike rentals. While the hotel has a lift and safety deposit boxes, it does not offer breakfast. The building is shared with another guesthouse, which may cause some confusion. Pets are not allowed despite the services list. The hotel dates from before recent renovations, and reviews frequently mention dated interiors and small, sometimes moldy bathrooms. The price starting at $190 per night is considered high relative to the condition and service quality reported by multiple guests.

It's nothing like the photos. It's far from it. The hotel is awful. The only good thing is the bathroom, which is small but clean and, you could say, acceptably new. The bed is rubbish. The price is outrageous for what it is. You can hear everything from room to room. Another good thing is the location. It shares a building with another hotel/guesthouse; it's not very clear. The Wi-Fi is terrible. The whole thing was a disaster, and I had to stay there for four nights.

Very old and dated room, bathroom ok but very smelly. Luckily it was just for the weekend, only good thing was the location on La Rambles. Very old dated lift up to the 4th floor. The room faced the back of the hotel only view backed onto a wall opposite. Wouldn’t stay here again.

A 1970’s hostel would be sheer luxury compared with this. The concierge was grumpy and non-communicative. He made us wait 10mins until the official “check in time”, which wasn’t a problem. We had two twin rooms booked. They were similar although only one we were given had a balcony. Common themes between the two rooms: One thin stained bed sheet on each bed only; broken mattress springs on a bed base that tips up if you sit on one end; one plug for the whole room; dirty bathroom; a broken shower head connector so the shower cannot be raised above 4 foot and falls off the holder when the shower is on; black mould on the curtains; air conditioning set to over 23 degrees with no way of adjusting it (we can only assume this is a ploy to stop guests from using it). And dirt. Lots and lots of dirt. We asked for a remote to adjust the air con unit. This was reluctantly, and after two hours of asking, given to us by the concierge but taken off us by the very angry, passive-aggressive owner, the following morning. However, when we did manage to use the air con units the one room without a “drainage bottle” constantly dripped water on the floor… drip drip drip… we had a choice: water torture or heat exhaustion. Even a towel on the floor to catch the drips became saturated within half an hour. To top this, every 30-45mins throughout the night people were coming and going in what sounded like the room next door to us and, from the noises coming from the room every 30-45 minutes, I can guess why our mattresses are so worn out and the beds broken. The gates to the hotel, which we were told were locked at 10pm for “our security”, were still unlocked and open at 3am. We have stayed at far nicer places at less than a third of the cost, and would definitely advise against staying here. In fact, the hotel where the Inbetweeners stayed in the first movie was cleaner, classier and better equipped, with more pleasant staff. Thankfully, there was no food available.

Exceptional location. Views of La Rambla. The service was exceptional throughout our stay. They gave us advice on what to visit and where to eat. Clean rooms and good value. We'll definitely be back.

The overall hotel experience was awful! It was unbelievable dirty and old. Rust and trash everywhere. The staff was rude, nobody bothered to change bedsheets or clean up. The toilet was dirty when i got there and there was trash on the floor that nobody picked up.the door was broken and i had to sleep without locking!they don't provide toilet paper or other amenities and the room walls were so thin you could hear everything. All the drawers had trash in them and there where no closet to hang your clothes!the price i paid for the room was totally unacceptable for that service! Its a dumpster!

Horrible!! They shouldn't have a licence to operate as a hotel!

Dear Toledano owners, for a better understanding my review, - I paid for 4 nights as for 3star hotel and I recieved an incredible small (2x2,5m), moldy, and miserable room with cockroaches (room no 312). It was awful! A nightmare! No one should stay in those conditions!

The staff were friendly and the location was great, however, the cleanliness of the room was not great. The top bedding (for show) was dirty, and not just on one of the beds. Under one bed was a swarm of ants. The sheets underneath looked clean but smelt funny. The reply from the hotel is that it is the smell of the fabric conditioner ... ok! The shower head attachment was broken, upon my review on booking.com, the hotel responded that it is customers who cause this and it takes them a few days to fix. It was broken upon arrival, so I wasn't sure if that response was aimed at myself and my family. The bathroom was mouldy. The shower gel packets were worn away where it looks like they're reused if another customer doesn't want it. Which isn't actually a problem as it is new, however, the hotel have responded they're new for every guest. The TV is tiny for a family room. You could hear everything going on in the reception, however this is to be expected with it being a small one floor hotel. The views of Las Ramblas were great (not good if you don't like heights). Location was brilliant and the staff were friendly.

Paper thin walls, no door insulation. Too much noise not from the street, but from other guests. Staff was nice, but half functioning lift and lack of soundproofing makes this far from perfect. Small Family hotel, just a few very small rooms.

No A/C, just a single cheap dollar store fan to beat the Spanish summer heat. Unbearable heat in that room as of early July, so had to try and sleep with the patio doors open (3d floor). Bustling noises of people in the streets below constant until 1 or 2am. Noisy street cleaners every night around 11:30 or later. Paint peeling off the walls. Bathroom miniscule and enamel peeling off the tub. Barely any room to go to the bathroom. Only power outlet near the bed inoperative. Wi-Fi abysmal and prone to dropping signal (I later find out that this is a problem throughout Spain).
Staff pleasant and knowledgeable of the area, but that isn't enough to save this review. This place needs a major reno to allow for a restful night's sleep before I even consider staying there again. Best part was proximity to Las Ramblas, Catalunya Plaza and Metro. Id consider this more a hostel than a hotel. Toughest 3 days of my family's European vacation. It
