Eco Boutique Hostal Grau in Barcelona

Location is in the middle of everything. Small but clean and very friendly hostel. Don't get goofed of the name of hostel it is much better than most of the hotels in Barcelona. Cleaned up everyday and very comfy and large double beds. Will definitely stay here again. The best price location/service benefit hotel!!

I had an excellent experience at Eco Boutique Hostal Grau. Great communication before arriving and a warm and efficient welcome at reception. Many thoughtful touches and comforts. The location is very central to walk the city and take public transport. Really appreciated the many sustainable touches like water at reception, easy places to separate items for recycling, living/green wall. My studio was spacious and well equipped. The common area was lovely to relax in and well-equipped.

I was very apprehensive because it is rated as a 2-star hotel however had good reviews so I took a chance and I was very pleasantly surprised.

Gorgeous hotel, very clean and great service. Someone on the front desk 24 hours to provide secure access and hospitality staff are very friendly and helpful. Very comfy and cosy communal areas including free tea and coffee anytime and cakes/cookies in the morning. There is a fridge to buy water and juice as you go past, which is great and snacks on the reception desk. Lots of sweet features like wish letters from past guests and visitors book, lots of info on local attractions in reception. The room was impeccable and big, really nicely decorated with nice upcycled decoration and furniture. Lots of cute features like a chalkboard and dried flowers hung by the door. Air conditioning and lovely handwash/shower gel. The room was completely silent with balcony doors closed despite being on the road side over a weekend. We slept so well! The location is ideal to explore gothic quarter and access metro and buses. Tapas, bars, supermarkets and bakeries within 1 minute walk. Would recommend 100% and a great price.

came to Barcelona for a few days and stayed at a disgusting hostel (Center Ramblas, AVOID!) and had to leave during the night to find other accommodations. The staff member working at Hostel Grau was the most incredibly kind man and was so accommodating and helpful. We can't thank him enough for all his help, it really means a lot to us! His compassion and kindness speaks volumes to the Hostel Grau. The Hostel is so very cute and is in an excellent location! Recommend to all!

As we try to become more and more eco-friendly, we wanted to find a hotel with the same vibe. Step up Hostal Grau which is a couple of minutes from the hustle and bustle of Barcelona's biggest tourist attraction Las Ramblas.

We arrived late on Friday but the gentleman on reception was very friendly and welcoming, taking us through everything we needed to know before heading off to our room.

The rooms are perfect for a small break. No need for big flat screen TVs and alike. The room is simple, very clean and well laid out. The bathroom is large with a stone base shower which do the job at the start and end of the day. Despite being in a busy area, the hotel is very well insulated from the noise and the shutters keep out that blazing sun first thing when you aren't quite ready to get up.

Each floor has a recycling area should you need it which is great to see. Every hotel should be adopting this policy.

Downstairs isn't large but is very well designed and friendly. We didn't make use of the facilities but walking through, it was very charming to look at.

All the staff that we encountered were incredibly friendly and able to deal with us luddite English-folk and our lack of lingual diversity outside of our mother tongue.

I highly recommend this hotel if you visit Barcelona for a long weekend and want to be central.
