Hotel Palacio del Carmen, Autograph Collection in Santiago de Compostela

If you want to see the splendour of Santiago de Compostela and enjoy tremendous service come to this hotel in mid to late March (avoid an early Easter of course) as we did. The hotel was quiet, the restaurant empty and a staff who had time to assist us. Our room on Floor 2 wing (201 to 226) was clean relatively modern with an older style decor that suited the history of the place. A 10 minute walk to the Cathedral which on the even floors faced out towards it was easy and slightly uphill. For Marriott Bonvoy members it is worth it with a decent breakfast set up and great dinners. The prices may seem high but no higher than at nearby restaurants of that excellent calibre. Wonderful gardens to escape into for some solitude although at that time of year it wasn't groomed yet. A small fitness area and a pool will be sufficient for those who desire that but not for the die hards. All in all worth it.

We had a great time at this hotel during our 3 nights. Location is great, walking distance to Casco Viejo.
They have a small free parking, which was very convenient.

Room was big and very comfortable. I love the Nespresso machine and pods. Bathroom was also big and a strong shower.

Breakfast was amazing, with so much options and the decoration of the room was immaculate. In fact, the hotel is really nice and well decorated.

They have an outside yard, indoor pool and a really small gym, that I used for a couple times.

Overall this was an amazing stay and I would definitely come back!

A lovely, relaxing hotel that is perfect if you are seeking excellent but unobtrusive service, surroundings to help you recharge, and a location within an easy walk to the main sights, but just beyond the hustle and bustle. Amazing restaurant with beautiful decor overlooking gardens. Enjoyed a lovely buffet breakfast and really delicious dinner en par with anything nearby. The staff here deserve special recognition... Everyone we met was smiling, helpful and highly professional. Highly recommend.

Our stay at the Hotel Palacio del Carmen – Autograph Collection was great. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how lovely the hotel is—beautifully maintained, very clean, and staffed by an exceptionally friendly team.

The location is fantastic. The hotel is centrally located and within easy walking distance of the beautiful Parque da Alameda, making it easy to explore the city while still enjoying a peaceful atmosphere.

One of the most special parts of our stay was waking up each morning to the sound of birds singing. The natural surroundings around the hotel are simply lovely. There is a charming walking path along the small creek next to the property, which makes for a peaceful stroll and a perfect way to start or end the day. The lush greenery and tranquil setting really highlight the beauty of the Galician landscape.

Overall, it was a fantastic stay—comfortable, relaxing, and beautifully connected to nature while still being close to everything Santiago has to offer. We would happily stay here again

Excellent location and accommodations - runs with calm and serene feeling despite being busy with cruise arrivals, weddings, and more. Breakfast is out of this world! Pool area is nice if a little small and on the cooler side. Very nice touches in workout area and nice room with tubs. Location cannot be beat for what you get inside + wonderful pastel de Santiago. Can’t wait to return, thank you so much!

While largish chain hotels are not usually our thing, this hotel does well.Junior Suite for 2 nights, very comfortable. Cathedral view, great for the fireworks on St James' Eve. Not too difficult to drive to, with good parking, and only 10 minutes walk (approx) to Cathedral.

Good hotel not far from the center of Santiago de Compostela. Clean room and a 24/7 gym and pool. Great architecture and great staff. Also has a nice breakfast buffet.

We stayed here at the end of our Camino from Lisbon. All of the staff were nice and attentive.
My wife came down with pneumonia and was hospitalized for 5 days, causing us to delay our flights home.
The hotel General manager extended our stay at a very generous rate and made sure we had everything we needed.
The most impressive piece to this was that every staff member from housekeeping to breakfast room to front desk knew of my wife's condition and always asked about her recovery and how I was holding up.
These are very good people.
Please stay here, you will enjoy every minute.

I love hotels that keep as much of the original building in tact and this hotel did just that. The room was large with a comfortable king bed and dark wood floors. We did have a problem with the upstairs room as the people walked so heavy it sounded the horses stomping on the ceiling. Also, the bathroom needs updating but worked just fine. It is a 10 to 15 minute to the city center and it’s uphill but we enjoyed the walk.
