While I am not an expert on the specific requirements for a five-star rating, this hotel did not meet those expectations in my experience. We had an absolutely wonderful weekend stay at the hotel. The location is perfect. Away from the town centre tourist rush, but just a mere 10 minute walking distance away. Nice hotel about 16 minutes walk from the Santiago Cathedral. Quiet area, pleasant rooms, good breakfast. Very little interaction with staff. Set menu for dinner as pictured was underwhelming … the potato was hard and dry and the pork was tough. Otherwise a good stay.

I was here for a non too pleasant visit so I was in and out pretty quickly every day. But at all times the staff made my stay nicer than I expected. The location is not the best for all cases as it was busy with a lot of building work in the area at the time, but it worked great for me.

The place was nice and the pool was great to have for the kids. We didn't get to experience any of the spa services b/c we didn't realize the time zone difference driving from Portugal. The location is pretty far from the city center, but it does have it's own beach access which is nice. But for someone looking for a quick stay in the city before going to the Cies Islands, there might be better options...

Room was spacious and clean, bed and pillows super comfortable, bathroom large with both shower and tube and all the amenities provided. We just missed a chair or an armchair/sofa to be given 5 stars.

This place is a gorgeous restoration of a "Galician pazo" (a rural residence of the nobles in the Galician region). The main entrance depicts many armory shields (escudos, as the name of the place), 101 of them according to the details i found. The hotel counts with rooms, restaurants, event rooms, a pool and many green areas and gardens. Also the views to the ria are beautiful.

Great hotel in A Coruña, very clean spacious room. Comfy bed. The breakfast buffet was great. Not too far to walk into the main shopping area - about 10 mins, and an interesting 45 min walk to the lighthouse.

I stayed here for a couple of nights in mid-August while traveling solo. I mainly needed air conditioning and a comfortable bed to recover from a long journey, and the hotel delivered on that. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, which I appreciated. That said, the room was smaller than expected and faced the rear of the building with no real view. After staying at 35 different properties throughout Spain leading up to this visit, I was disappointed in the service. The communication regarding my luggage and booking a spa treatment was non existent. The service at breakfast was dismal. There were cobwebs hanging in my bathroom ceiling. I was actually quite shocked at this considering it was one of the more expensive hotels I’ve stayed and yet...

Staff were friendly and helpful, even though i didn't speak Spanish the lady on the front desk spoke English. I arrived quite early and a room was available for me. It was very clean with a large hot shower and a comfortable bed. I only stayed for 1 night checked out the following morning, they kept my case for me as i was off sightseeing. The air conditioning didn’t work! We had to open the windows and there were too noisy outside, the hotel was so close to the highway. We couldn’t sleep properly. Staff was good, everything was clean

Great hotel close to train station. Staff is really nice. We booked a triple room but we're given a quadruple room with a nice size. Everything worked fine. At check-in breakfast buffet was offered at a discounted rate, it was good and well served. Walking distance to/from train station.

This is advertised as 5 star hotel. It is not. There were no basic coffee/tea making facility in the room & only a basic shower over bath in the bathroom. Hairdrier did not work in our room and took a long time to get fixed. It has a beautiful foyer & a nice pool area (pool is uniformly deep however) & the service was generally very good. Location is pretty close to the Old Town.

Friendly Uruguayan guy at check in. Very good breakfast spread and staff keeping it tidy and replenishert. Parking just 50m down the road very easy. Bit expensive at €17. Rooms a bit dated and unfortunately I had one facing the back of some restaurants so I couldn't open the window. Aircon worked well. (The receptionist did suggest a room at the back as it was quieter just a shame about the odours...

A perfect spot to explore Ourense , the hotel was comfortable with a great breakfast, the room was comfortable and large with a vi of the street but it was quiet, the staff are very friendly, the location is great for local restaurants.

I needed a room in A Coruna after deciding to visit to check out the medieval festival (Fiestas del Apóstol Santiago, St James) post El Camino Frances 25. I found the Hotel Santa Catalina which was a reasonable price for the time. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The room was comfy with a nice hot shower.

Location is unbeatable. Really near to beach and best tapas bars. All of the reception staff are very kind. We have been grateful for our stay here - cleaning is absolutely impeccable. Strongly recommend. Comfy beds.

Nice hotel with perfect location

If you are looking for a centrally located hotel at a good price, it is not bad. At night on the weekend there is a cocktail bar next door and the noise is deafening. When we arrived we found an unpleasant detail in the room, they had not collected the previous client's trash. Otherwise, all good. The staff is very friendly at all times.

Quite good for a hotel with 2 stars, but....hair everywhere...in a bathroom, in a bed, towels are hairy too...this must be solved

I can only speak about the spa. We went to spend an afternoon with my wife and the 13 and 10 year old girls. The hotel is located in the center of Ourense and we called because they let children enjoy the spa. It is not very big but it is very good. It has everything that any larger spa has where they do not allow minors. More than 6 people cannot be together in the group. Worth.

Correct rooms, minimalist touch. The spa is the best of the hotel, we have been able to enjoy it alone in the late afternoon. I can not rate more because they asked us about breakfast time and at 9:30 there was no juice or fresh bread left. And no hotel staff was anywhere to be seen. We will return but without breakfast.

Totally recommendable hotel, good location, it did not seem expensive to me to be a 4 * and to have gone in August. The room is large and has a shower tray (with a height of 2cm). The hotel is very nice and the attention is great.

Parking: Opposite there is an underground car park where you entrust the vehicle and key to the guards after checking in. €10 per night and works great. Service: friendly but no English Rooms: perfectly fine Location: getting around the hotel is, well, very easy. But you are in 2 minutes in the old town. Spa: not tried. Costs extra.

This hotel is fabulous. The spa adds a special charm and allows you to completely relax after a day of enjoying the beautiful city. The location is close to the historic area and the rooms have modern, minimalist decor that I loved. The staff goes out of their way to help you and make you feel at home. Delightful hotel inside the walled town of Lugo. We were driving from Leon and didn’t have parking instructions. You have to drive into the city at Porta Mina to access the hotel’s very convenient parking. The staff was friendly. Our room was clean and spacious but missing some minor amenities like tissues, hair conditioner, and complimentary drinking water available at comparable hotels on our trip...

Family hotel that has the feel of friendship and quirkyness. Our room large and very comfortable and buffet breakfast was superb with cheese choice in particular enormous.

On the back of some challenging days on Camino Primitivo our stay at this place was delightful. Very clean, spacious, elegant and very well located next to the wall. Very good service, nothing was a problem. Great breakfast and cafe/bar Highly recommend.

The location was decent, not far from the sea, but the rooms were very small, and the bathrooms even smaller. Cleanliness was good. Breakfast was à la carte, costing around 10 euros per person. I paid a tax upon arrival, but they asked for another one upon departure. I told them I had already paid, and then they asked for a deposit. I was about to leave and didn't understand what deposit was needed...

The third adult's bed was neither a bed nor a sofa bed. A disaster. It was a single-person armchair with a narrow slatted frame. The reservation was for 3 adults, not 2 adults and a child.

Comfortable hotel to stay at if you are walking the El Camino where there are not many hotels to choose from

I stayed for one night. The room was very small and had no natural light, as the window faced the skylight, which made you feel depressed ,all night raining cat and dogs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast was poor to non-existent. A very central hotel close to the old town, two streets up the coastal road of Vigo port .

Hotel located 10 minutes from the train station and 5 minutes from the port. The beds are large, but there isn’t much extra space in the room – though honestly, what more do you really need beyond a comfortable place to sleep? I did miss having a kettle and some coffee. The bathroom is spacious, everything was clean and quite.

Location is not bad and reception was kind. Rooms are very small...haven't been that cramped since Japan stays. Thermostat controlled by management and so plan on opening your window at night to cool off. Indoor pool featured on website is closed so manage your expectations.

My go-to hotel in Vigo. Comfortable rooms and friendly service. My only complaint is that the web site makes it look like they have a spa and pool in the building, which is not the case.
