ME Ibiza - The Leading Hotels of the World in Santa Eularia des Riu

On arrival main entrance all locked up , so not a great start and got worse ,we were informed that Two thirds of the hotel was now closed including the main pool area , spa,bars and eating areas Having paid for level up we found that others there who had booked a standard room had all been upgraded to the level area ( as this was the only section open) so obviously we were miffed Having paid for half board the only option was now Italian a la carte with the same menu every night , the food standard was poor , always lukewarm and the menu options were not available every day , even a salad wasn’t available one evening , we ended up eating out so yet another waste of money Also by day 2 the hotel was surrounded by security fencing , looking more like an asylum hotel in the uk The staff just seemed to be going through the motions at the end of season To make matters worse while we were in the centre of Santa Eulalia on the morning of Sunday the 26th (our last day) enjoying a coffee in the square we had a phone call from the hotel telling us we had to get back to the hotel and be out of the hotel and room by 2pm as it was all being locked up , as we were not being picked up until 6:30 to 7 pm we couldn’t even leave our cases there , even though we were previously told we could have the room as long as we wanted it as nobody was using it after . We eventually had to go to another hotel where we could leave our cases and have a shower and freshen up Not the ideal situation and very stressful On booking nothing was mentioned about areas being closed , in fact they were advertised as being open until the 30th Overall a really disappointing stay The area is lovely but just really let down by our accommodation and standards

Not a luxury hotel - 3 star at best Would not return Spend your money elsewhere We stayed in a junior sea view suite for 7 nights for £2k (bed and breakfast). Crowd was a mix of 30-60 year olds - mainly UK. Positives: - the room was quite nice - we paid to upgrade to a suite with a sea view. I think without this it would be too small to stay more than a couple of nights. - The bed / bedding etc was nice - The bathroom was compact but nice - no bath which you would probably expect in a suite - The setting - beautiful coastal spot and feels peaceful - Quick to get taxi’s - shouldn’t be a pro but that’s all I’ve got - Gym is fairly well equipped but is underground Problems: - Broken TV - no signal and not a smart TV so can’t be used - Phone doesn’t work apart from for room service button - cannot contact reception - raised it and wasn’t fixed. Assume it’s intentional - Reception can be rude and unhelpful - it’s never proactive help or help with a smile. Anytime you ask for something they look pained. There are a few good ones but mainly level is really low. - Food - the buffet breakfast is a B+ but the lunch options are awful and overpriced. €22 for a Caesar salad which was some shredded iceberg drowned in sauce with boiled chicken. Zero taste or aesthetic appeal. The club sandwich - again over €22 - was wet bread and tasteless. - Tea / coffee / waters / cups were not replaced in the room when cleaned consistently leaving us with no tea / coffee in the morning - Air con in the room was weak and didn’t work consistently - turning off and on at will - thinking the door to the balcony was open when it wasn’t etc And the biggest issues: - not enough sunbeds for the number of guests - every morning the sunbeds would be gone by 10.30am. A scramble to get one and then they have all the Balinese beds available “to reserve” for an extra fee. Having to pay extra to be able to relax by the pool in a 4 star resort is ridiculous - Met an elderly woman sitting alone in the garden because she couldn’t find a sunbed to sit - “The level” is an extra fee of around £90 a day which gives you access to a rooftop pool, daily snacks, a new breakfast area and “better” rooms - personally I find this mental, to already pay a lot and then have to pay for an extra “club” on top to access hotel facilities is money grabbing and ridiculous
