Agroturismo Can Domo in Santa Eularia des Riu

Child-hostile, rude service, expensive food, pretty place

We just got back after a two night stay at Can Domo with our 2.5 year old daughter. Before we arrived, the hotel's communication was poor. They only picked up the phone about once every six or seven attempts. They repeatedly didn't reply to emails. And although the hotel says it welcomes families, it was surprisingly unaccommodating of ours. We had to move rooms for the second night and asked for a cot in the room for the second night, as we had on the first night. The hotel said it was impossible. Instead we just borrowed another one and moved it across ourselves. It fit in the room fine.

While some of the staff were sweet, the one who sticks in the mind was an extremely grumpy and unhelpful woman at the front desk who refused to make any concessions for children, especially when it came to food. The bar food available before 8pm was mostly 35-Euro lobster rolls and burgers. When we just asked for a simple bowl of pasta or something for the children, she said it was impossible. Breakfast doesn't start until 9am, which is also tricky for a two year old.

Perhaps Can Domo is better if you are a couple. It's a peaceful and pretty place. But given that there are so many more hotels nearby with better prices and infinitely more friendly service, I don't know why anyone would choose to stay here. It was especially disappointing as we had heard great things beforehand.
