I hesitated if I should give a four or five stars to this place. The cabana and rooms are really very nice and spacious and the view over the waterfall is priceless. It is true that reaching the place is tricky especially if you don’t know the country, area and their tradition. To reach the cabana you need to walk on the train tracks for 5 - 10 min depending where the tuc tuc leaves you. Except that everything is perfect! The hosts offers an amazing (too much) breakfast and they are always smiling. It is unique experience! I’d like to add that many animals such us monkeys, mongoose, chipmunks and many others will be around you all the time. So I decided 5 stars

We booked the room and got a booking confirmation. The day we arrive late in the evening at 7:30, a lady who lived downstairs told us that the rooms were full already. We called the owner, who never picked up, five times. Finally, the people who lived there called and then the owner picked up immediately. They told us, that the room the others booked had a water problem and therefore they got our room. The owner never got back to us, also not after i texted him and they never appologised. In the end, we had to organise another hostel in the middle of the night from the middle of nowhere, cause at the place, where the tree house is, there are no cars, no tuktuks not anything. All in all it was the worst experience we had and we felt totally ignored and misstreated! They could have let us know the day before, then we wouldn't have had all these problems and worries.

We left here early. The room we were given was a hut down a long long flight of crumbled steps. Past rubbish. The room was very very basic and didn’t look clean. The bathroom was terrible. There was no wifi and only one towel.
The roof was tin and monkeys fought on it the whole time making a terrible loud noise all night.
The manager who dealt with us was friendly but all the other staff appeared un-friendly which is so unusual for Sri Lanka.
Breakfast was again basic.

A stay in the jungle
This place is magical! Truly a stay in the jungle. There’s no road to the cabin so the last part you have to walk on the railway. However the staff were really helpful and carried our suitcases the whole way - so do recommend to pack lightly. The place was amazing and the staff were so kind and helpful. Highly recommend!

This cabana is no longer available to stay in they took our money of course and when we arrived they showed us to a youth hostel place. I was not happy and told them to take down the bamboo cabana as an option on last minute. They did provide us with a better room in another building but I was not happy.

I did check in this Cabana on 28 Aug 2023 . On the very night while sleeping i foind rats were running on my bed and room .Do not go!!! A dodgy place. Owener does not respond. We had to leave the place and find another accomodation. Ruined our night.DO NOT GO !
