One of the most elegant, clean, top notch hotels I have been to. The staff were super professional. The views were amazing. The food was out of this world, specially the dinner menu was so diverse. Those little gardens were mesmerizing and had a dreamy vibe to them.
My one year old son had an amazing time playing in those well looked after gardens. I wish I had stayed there for two nights. The amenities were five star and the room was so comfy. The staff took good care of us. The service was so proactive. They even upgraded our room to a higher category.
I would definitely visit the place again if I get the chance.
PS:
As a bird photographer, it was amazing to witness a lot of species around the bushes at the hotel. There were a few endemic birds as well.

Had an amazing weekend at The Secret Ella. Friendly staff made our stay so wonderful and meal options and food was another level. Very affordable prices and totally worth it. Scenic view of the mountains and the memorizing infinity pool added some quality value to the stay. Recommending this place to everyone and definitely will be going back again.
Beautiful hotel located on a small hill top with amazing views of mountains all around. On a corner you can see the famous nine arch bridge also. This is a old tea planter bungalow and recently they have built 5 awesome chalets here which is the major highlight.
Chalets have all the luxury amenities and quite spacious. They had a pool with a view. The view from the chalets at morning is really amazing. The mountains are covered with mist and a cold strong breeze is there all day.
Service is good. Food is average in our opinion.
They have rooms in the bungalow as well but we feel that you must stay in a chalet if you are visiting here.

The hotel is located on a hill top surrounded by tea plantations on one side overlooking valleys and mountain ranges. The wooden cabins have beautiful view specially in the morning and afternoon. We were so mesmerized by the view, we extended our stay for 2 nights. Cabins are large and comfortable, have a large bathroom with a bathtub. They offered 4 course meals and the food was great.They sent ahead the menu to the phone as a Covid-19 measure. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall one of our best hotel experiences.
Pros,
Located in the middle of a vast tea estate as it in the early days was a planters bungalow which now has been converted to a hotel. Surrounding the hotel is Well maintained garden with flowers and huge trees and as you approach it as a guest, the hotel gives out a homely feeling. The feeling gets better if you go with a crowd. The bungalow is Located in close proximity to Ella’s main tourist attraction ie The Nine Arch Bridge. Rs 350 tuk Ride to the Nine Arched bridge railway road and then from there, a 10 minute walk towards the bridge. The food is great (Definitely try the pork shoulder for dinner, its Amazing !!) and the staff is friendly. Theres an active ferry for transport of luggage from the main road to the hotel. Rooms and washrooms are extremely spacious. Hotel Has Solar hot water which has been made possible through Sunbird hot water systems. Great view from the pool.
Cons,
The road (550m)that leads to the hotel from the main road is paved with carpet but there’s rubble all over it. Therefore its not the smoothest ride you’ll get.
The staff is slow in their approach to serve meals to guests(not the most enthusiastic batch). Could improve on breakfast choices.
Discouraging to see that small meals have been presented in large looking plates ( Could work on the portions)
