Absolutely amazing place to stay clean comfortable rooms staff couldn't do enough for you and really polite we have traveled alot probably the best hotel we have stayed in

Stayed there for 1 night with my family and we had a splendid time. The room and the washroom were massive, and it had a nice balcony, which offered unparalleled views of the surrounding hills. You could just sit and watch the beauty of nature from there all day. The swimming pool view was excellent as well. We also enjoyed dining at the restaurant where the lady chef and staff were outstanding. They ensured we, along with our kids, had a good time. The food was delicious too. All the hotel staff were very hospitable, and they offered great service all throughout. It was a great value for money stay indeed. Wish we could've stayed one more night but due to time constraints we couldn't but definitely will stay more nights next time!

The views from the rooms are stunning. We had a room on the top floor, which unfortunatley flooded due to the cyclone so we had to be moved. The hotel doesnt look like much from the outside but the views are amazing. Didnt try the pool due to the rain. The food was very tasty. Things that were issues: it's on the edge of town, so you may need a ride into the main area, at a certain point of the day there were moths everywhere, and room service is a bit slow.

The views from this hotel are the best we’ve seen anywhere in the world. The staff are beyond friendly. We had a renovated room on the front on the first floor looking right down the valley. It was newly refurbished and huge. The bed was 4 poster with a mosquito net. The breakfast was very nice and substantial. At first it looks a little out of town but it’s actually only a 10 min walk but there’s a tuk tuk stand 1 min away. The only reason for giving 4* and not 5 is because there are dogs on the road outside which barked all night.

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the wonderful experience my family and my friend's family had during our visit to Misty Villas on 14th August. Misty Villas is truly a beautiful place. We were greeted with a warm welcome, and the food was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, and every one was very friendly and accommodating to the guest. The rooms were luxurious, truly comparable to a 5 star hotel. I would especially like to commend Mr. Roshan, the manager. Who was incredibly kind, friendly, helpful and lovely. His expetional service made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall we are satisfied. The renovated rooms are comfortable and spacious. The beds are great, and breakfast is good (even if the food is sometimes cold). Just be aware that the hotel is still undergoing renovations, so make sure to request a renovated room. We stayed the first night in a non-renovated room: the air conditioning was broken, the fan was noisy and impossible to use at night, the fridge was constantly running, and the safe didn’t work. We asked to change rooms, and they accommodated us the next day. The staff are friendly as well. The hotel is located a little outside Ella, which is actually a plus since the town can be noisy. And of course, the best feature of this place is the incredible view of the valley and Ella Rock! I would definitely go back to Misty Hills if I return to Ella.

An excellent location in the heart of the mountains, offering breathtaking views. The city is around 15 mins from the resort and it's very lively with plenty of options for food and having an evening stroll. Transportation with tuk tuk is available at ease. The staff was very friendly and it has a nice infinity pool.

Amazing views from our room! The rooms were spacious with a table and chairs and couch (we had two deluxe rooms for our family). Good air conditioning and comfortable beds. The swimming pool was superb also with amazing views. The breakfast was good. It's about a 10 min walk up the hill to Ella or just catch a tuk tuk. We stayed 3 nights and would definitely stay here again.

Keeping in mind this is a 3 star hotel, the positives are the rooms are big with a balcony looking out at amazing views (ours anyway), and the pool is clean and quite big also with amazing views and a concrete elephant water feature!!! The location of the hotel is pretty good too - far enough from other properties to be quiet but close enough to Ella main drag that you can walk in 10-15 minutes or pay a tuk tuk driver double the rate of Colombo to get to and from. The big negative for us was that despite being told upon checking in that the room would be cleaned every day, it was not. And I was told the reason why was that we didn’t hand in our key for it to be done - which seems bizarre after staying in hotels for decades and not being told to or having to hand in a key in order to get a standard daily room clean. The insinuation that it was our fault for not handing in a key (not that we were told to do so on checking in) was extremely irritating. Food was ok but overpriced so we ate elsewhere (lots of options). There were lots of little things in the rooms that could be easily addressed to make them nicer - definitely not having ripped old bath towels, and removing an empty TV bracket from the wall (like a TV used to be there but not anymore - or was it just our room, who knows). All these little things add up to I really think the room rate is too high - but we are here in the high season so maybe that’s just the going rate.
