We stayed in the deluxe wing, which does not offer a good view of the ocean, for the price of the room. The hotel and its furniture looks dated, but the room was large and comfortable enough. The beach in front of the hotel is a public beach - there are touts standing just outside the hotel waiting to sell things.

Both rooms we booked had great sea views. The beach was perfect for a stroll; the waves were gentle, and it only took a few minutes to walk to the beach. Compared to other attractions, I preferred staying at the hotel. Highly recommended.

Very nice resort hotel, there is a beach behind the hotel. There is no place to hike around the hotel. The only place you can go is a turtle conservation base more than one kilometer to the left along the beach behind the hotel. You can see turtles and relax in the hotel for the rest of the time.

I had a lovely massage which was so calming and relaxing!!! Such good price as well. The room was ok, it has very good air conditioning. The buffet was often overcrowded and there was limited choice, but the freshly made food was always delicious. Some drinks were not available. The pool was lovely and the staff were very attentive. I had the most wonderful time. The sea was just perfect.

The hotel is located by the lake and has preserved the original plants and stones. It is a very unique building and worth staying in. The breakfast is also very rich. The hotel is quite far to go, so it is recommended to eat directly in the hotel or buy things to bring in before entering the hotel, otherwise it will take at least half an hour to go out and back.

Our room was conveniently located right by the pool entrance, making swimming incredibly easy! The hotel is located on the Bentota coastline in Sri Lanka. The balcony offers ocean views, and the fine sandy beach is perfect for swimming and strolling. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the breakfast is plentiful, and the ocean view rooms offer beautiful scenery!

Instead of one large bed there were two small beds pushed together, the flower bed at the exit from the room to the street was full of trash and without flowers, unlike the neighboring flower beds.

A lovely way to start our trip to Sri Lanka. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very tasty, different fruit juices and fruits every day and a choice of how your egg was cooked. We loved the access to the beach and the excellent service provided by Sumutu who looked after us every day. The pool was good for swimming and it was easy to get a tuktuk to other places.

Lovely hotel with an old colonial vibe. Although the we loved the place but it could do with a refurbish in the bathrooms. Lovely pool and gardens with a short walk down to the terrific massive beach. The hotel also has the novelty of the coastal train line running past the end of the garden which was quite fun. We love this place. The gardens are very beautiful and well maintained. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are a bit older but still in keeping with the period of the hotel. The food was delicious and breakfasts are amazing! Thanks for such a wonderful stay

This was the last of the 4 hotels we did in our 10 day trip. Boutique resort, just 15 rooms and a lovely lawn and a 20 met pool. Outstanding service, good food and just a min walk across the tracks to the bentota beach.

This is not our first time here, everything went great last year, and so with the wealth of options on the island we decided not to tempt fate and stay here again (we were welcomed with even greater hospitality than the year before), especially since the price was more than right. Beautiful garden, beautifully landscaped pool, very nice, large rooms. The bathroom could use a refresh, but the overall atmosphere of the hotel is very pleasant and sophisticated, rounded off by very friendly staff with excellent service. I would book this hotel again.

The building is beautiful as is the art work. Excellent pool and wonderful gardens giving easy access to the beach. Service is very attentive and the meals are extremely good ( great banana bread!). A great place to relax and enjoy a few days of rest. It is good value for money and food and drink is very reasonable but don’t get your laundry done here it is ridiculously expensive.

Pros: This is a charming property in a great beach front location with friendly staff. Special mention to Mahes who looked after us well. Cons: Needs a little freshen up.

The Joes Resort Bentota offers a very good view and an amazing private beach, making it a great spot for relaxation. The food was average, and it's a bit far from the main beach area, but the peaceful ambiance and beautiful sunset in the evening made up for it. The staff was nice, and overall, it was a good and relaxing stay. Highly recommended!

Visited with friends. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds and clean washrooms. Rooms with good ocean view. The check in was smooth. Check in is at 1 PM and check out was at 11AM . Food was great although limited options in the buffet. Great value for money. Staff were friendly. Would recommend.

This is a great resort, absolutely beautiful on the beach. Great view and the entire resort, pool was very clean. Friendly staff. Mahesh was very kind and answered all our questions and helped with anything we needed. Thanks for a great experience.

Our stay at this oceanfront hotel was pure magic. The highlight was definitely the stunning views at the Indian Ocean during meal and high quality spa massages. Our room was clean, spacious, and the balcony was the perfect spot to watch the sunset. The perfect blend of relaxation and natural beauty. A beautiful hotel stay with stunning sea views and peaceful surroundings. The staff were polite, the dinner was tasty and the pool ( could not enjoy much due to rain) and beach access made the stay extra relaxing. Our spacious room with a sunset view was the highlight. A memorable and calming time and highly recommended (5 star stay)

Very frendely staf the rooms are nice but are moister the hotel is being renovated zo it will be of higher standard. Location is fantastic with sea view. Nice local restaurants in the area.

We booked a triple room, so a single bed was added to the room in advance. The room is on the first floor, and you can walk across the lawn to the sea! The waves on this side are relatively large, and you need to go to another place with a breakwater to swim. The price of the hotel is very affordable, and the included breakfast and dinner are also OK!
