We were lucky enough to spend 10 nights at the Aida after our flight back to the Uk was cancelled. The hotel is next to the river and a short walk to a stunning beach. The staff were fantastic all through the holiday. special shout out to Ridma, who greeted us every night in the beer garden with a big smile. Plenty of really good restaurants nearby .hotel rooms were small but had everything you needed. Although we moved into a much larger Villa near the pool. Breakfast was standard Sri Lankan breakfast. Excellent value for money .

Beautiful location on the Bentota River. Simple but clean, but older Ayurveda hotel (2-3 stars) with very friendly staff. Rooms are small and simply furnished, but have air conditioning and a safe. Special Ayurveda food is served. If you're not doing an Ayurveda treatment, like me, I recommend booking only breakfast, which is the usual breakfast in Sri Lanka. Since the hotel is located directly on the river and the beautiful garden features a pond, pool, and fountain, be sure to bring mosquito spray or something similar, otherwise you'll come back covered in bites. Definitely a place to relax and unwind. Bentota train station and Aluthgama are only a 5-10 minute walk away. A tuk-tuk to Aluthgama town center costs around 300 LKR. This is negotiable.

5 things were good about this hotel; comfortable beds, a nice pool; fabulous gardens, a very good spa and excellent coffee

Warning for (young) women! Dubious and dirty massages are offered here. In a classic Ayurvedic massage, women are massaged by women. That is not the case here. In addition, there is no proper cover and the panties are pulled down too far during the massage (you are gawked at when you turn around and you are finished - no go!) and massaged far too far in the intimate area.
As a shower is only an open air shower where others were already gawked at. Please do yourself a favor and give this hotel a wide berth. Price performance outrageous. After the incident was addressed there was no reaction from the staff.
