Sea View Beach Resort Hotel in Unawatuna

Really nice place. Friendly staff.

Pluses:
- Really close to the beach, like right outside the room. Could even sleep to the sound of the waves.
- Breakfast was good. Really tasty buffet.

Concerns:
- Hot water was an issue a couple of times and we had to wait a while to get it or just shower with cool water. Not great for my wife who needed to wash her hair.
- Power would cut sometimes, in our room only. Had to manually flip the breaker switch each time.

Overall, the place is nice and beautiful. It will be awesome if they solve those issues.

We booked the hotel online about a month or so back. The day before checking in, we called the number that was provided with the booking turned out to be wrong. We reached at night amidst a heavy storm and a power cut, only to find that nobody was there at the property. We called about a few times before someone came out and showed us to our room. There was nobody to carry the bags upstairs to the 2nd floor. The room was pretty small, but clean. But it lacked basic amenities like soaps or water in the room.
The property is in front of the beach and they are building one more property on the beach itself.
Now, coming to the food, the breakfast was decent. I did not see much activity in the kitchen apart from the breakfast.
Now coming to the 2 best things about the hotel is its property and the warm behaviour. From the owner to the manager to the staff they all make the guests feel welcome.
