What a beautiful place to spend. Their water cabanas is best place to honeymoon couples. It has a great morning and evening view of hikkaduwa lake. And can't forget the experience of kayaking ❤️❤️ ❤️

My wife and I went this place one month ago. Room is not good and sevice is very bad. First we booked this place on Bed and breakfast. Then we changed to the F/B package . BB price was Rs.11,000 and F/ B price was 21,000. So they served same rice for the lunch and dinner. Funniest thing is for breakfast they gave half bread with dhall curry 😂 and the guy who served said they were late to get string hoppers today. Food was avarage definitely not value for money.Not recommended for anyone. Very bad place .

We recently enjoyed a day-out that offered a largely positive experience. The welcome drink was delightful, though we were a bit disappointed that our otherwise well-prepared and tasty lunch arrived cold. A slight miscommunication occurred regarding the boat ride; we were expecting a Hansa boat but were offered a kayaking safari instead. Due to the challenging conditions at the time, we found kayaking difficult and decided to skip the activity, heading back to our room. On a brighter note, the pool was impressively clear and well-maintained. Ultimately, we felt the day-out package provided a great experience at an affordable price.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone because of my horrible experience there. It was horrifying to see a snake and a scorpion in our room! But the staff just acted like it wasn’t a big deal. Their lack of professionalism and negligence was startling. We asked for dinner at 7 PM, but it didn’t come until 9 PM with no explanation or apology. The air conditioning didn’t work, so the room was sweltering hot. And the food was terrible—not worth the price we paid. The room doors were broken, which made us feel unsafe. It was clear that the hotel didn’t take care of its rooms or its guests.

I recently enjoyed the dinner buffet at Shiny Lakeside Resort, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The buffet featured amazing dishes that tasted like home-cooked meals, with no artificial flavors—definitely a highlight. The lake and floating dining areas added a unique charm to the evening.

However, my experience started off on a less positive note with the welcome drink, which felt uninviting and gave a bad impression. Thankfully, the buffet and the fresh fruits for dessert made up for it. At 1890 LKR per person, which includes pool access, it felt like a great deal.

There was a DJ playing music, and I really enjoyed dancing after a long time; it added to the fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service left something to be desired. With around 30 diners and only one waiter serving water, I waited 25 minutes for my request to be fulfilled. I strongly recommend adding an extra waiter for busy buffet events to improve the service.

Another downside was the lack of alcohol—no beers available, which was disappointing, especially for a gathering with friends. They didn’t mention a BYOB option either, which felt like a missed opportunity.

Despite these issues, the overall dinner buffet experience was enjoyable, and I would recommend it to others looking for a pleasant evening out.

Very nice hotel, the boss is also very nice, a first-line lake view room, you can fish directly on the balcony, there are a lot of big eels, groupers, and big crabs, you can cook directly in the hotel

Good place and location with average cleanliness. Nature friendly. Foods are worth for the price.
Even though the location is nearby a main road, area is calm and quiet. Recommended for a relaxing vacation or for a nature lover. Good to hear the sound of lake and animals in the morning.
Might be disturbing when external people visit there to the restaurant.

Food is quite good. Not much but fine. Customer care is polite and considerable. Some features are better than 5 star hotels, such as their main hall.
Situated with lake and it's a plus experience to all visit here. Also with so much trees and things it makes more calm and comfortable.
