Hotel Thai Lanka in Hikkaduwa

It is not a good hotel.Bad service and cheap room and bad hygiene.

This is no longer what could be described as a hotel. The rooms are thick with dust that is moved around via the fan &/or AC which inturn actually caused breathing problems. This place looks quaint & inviting on the various booking platforms, however these photos are a sham. This place is nothing like the photos & any reviews that are positive in nature must be false. I tested the wifi - Down 0.7 Up 0.08. Now, that's not usable in anyway. The kitchen does operate as a restaurant & when looking for the manager observed a rat jump off dirty pots. There is fridges in some rooms, but not ours even after request & agreement. No TV. Power cables hanging out of the room. No room cleaning. Our bottom sheet split due to being so thin & worn. There are gaps in door ways & windows that allowed mosquitoes in at will & we were bitten head to foot. The toilet flashed sometimes, but when it didn't after use it was a major problem. To be honest, l haven't mentioned all the things wrong with just the basics of this place bc it would just take too long. Be warned, the photos are doctor or from many years ago & any positive reviews are false without question. This place should really be investigated by the health authorities of Sri Lanka. Don't put yourself through this highly negative experience, it not worth it.

This hotel looks pretty good in the photos however, it is probably the worst hotel l have booked. The rooms were dirty, very dusty that caused breathing difficulties, no hot water, toilet flushed sometimes & the bed sheets were a whole nowhere storey. No fridge or TV in yhe rooms. I looked in the kitchen to see a rat jump ofvthe dirty pots. This place can only be described as a disaster.we left after 2 nights because we could not stand it any longer. We lost money, but would rather move & they can keep the money. I really think the health authorities should inspect this hovel.

Gosh, we book for one night and I didn’t sleep in the whole night. room are soo smelly, there has been people smoking and drinking inside the room, too hot airconditioner is not working. I take a shower 2 times in the middle of the night gosh.

It isn't a nice place, but it is cheap. It isn't clean and pleas don't expect to much, you will be disappointed. It is kind of a ruin hotel.

Would have once been a nice place. Dirty with the staff seemingly sitting around not doing anything. After 3 polite requests to clean up the huge pile of cat poo a few metres from our door & balcony chairs nothing has been done. Around 12 unhealthy looking cats hanging around the property. the room smells of damp, the sheets stained. Rat droppings on top of the wardrobe. Comfy bed but noisy. Good shower. Good location. Such a shame.
