We had a good stay at this hotel. The food was delicious with a great variety, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive. Although it is a little far from Sigiriya Rock, the peaceful forest atmosphere makes it a perfect place to relax.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Amaara Forest Hotel Sigiriya. Our room was incredibly comfortable and kept perfectly clean throughout our visit. The food was delicious, and the staff were exceptionally nice and welcoming. It was a wonderful experience overall. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

The stay here was simply superb! From entering the property, we (my daughters and I) were blown away by how well-maintained and respectful of nature the property was. It was nice to see all the wildlife on the property especially the birds and monkeys. The staff at the front desk and restaurant were warm and professional. All our needs were met. The gardening staff and all who worked at the hotel also deserve a mention as they always had a friendly word or smile. The hotel organised tours and local transport for myself and my daughters, making our stay there a hassle-free one. The pool was a great treat for the hot days. The property is also very kid-friendly in that there are open spaces for kids to play safely. The local community surrounding the hotel is lovely. We took some bicylces out to explore and unfortunately two broke down and the locals came to our rescue with no qualms whatsoever. The rooms were clean and well-maintained and the hotel well exceeded the value for money. Cannot wait to visit again!

I love the gardens of this place so much. It's the perfect place to unwind, read a book and relax. The rooms are super spacious, the food was delicious and the staff make you feel special. Take an extra day here, it's worth it

We stayed at this lovely resort hotel for two nights while sightseeing at Sigiriya Rock. It was nestled in the middle of a vast forest.
Our room was a two-story, cottage-style building, and ours was on the first floor. We could hear the footsteps of people upstairs starting at 4:00 AM, which was a bit loud, and there was a noticeable smell coming from the drains. However, the food was delicious (though breakfast was nothing special), and we enjoyed the refreshing breeze in the restaurant in front of the pool. Since there were no restaurants nearby, we included dinner. We chose from the à la carte menu on our first night, and the buffet on our second night offered a wide selection of curries and desserts. We had trouble with Wi-Fi on our second day due to a network outage, but it was fixed the next morning.
The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Because the hotel is remote, we asked the hotel to arrange round-trip tuk-tuks to Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala. Both trips cost 4,800 rubles. The same driver came both days and was a nice young man, but the local guide was surprised that the price was much higher than the tuk-tuks you can hail in the area, so please be careful if you use this service.

The location is on a small suburban road. We arrived in the evening and wandered around for a long time before finding it. The staff were very friendly and the hotel is spacious. The room facilities are average, and the hotel is mainly outdoor-oriented. We went out early in the morning to look for animals, but there weren't many, mainly forest and bird watching. Negombo and Sigiriya are probably smaller cities, and the top-rated hotels have relatively primitive facilities, focusing on outdoor and nature-oriented activities.

This hotel located in the beautiful forest, as long as you are looking for the experience never forget, I highly recommend this place. All staff are more than just kind, they will help you at all. Also pool in there, stunning

The path from the cottages to the front desk and restaurant is dirt, so it is difficult to walk. I think they need to improve it a bit.

Dear Readers, 1. I and my wife stayed in this resort for one night (Check In 10 Dec 2024 & Check Out 11 Dec 2024). 2. I had booked this hotel through Ms CEYLO TRAVELS,COLOMBO as one destination out of our 14 nights itinerary to Sri Lanka. 3. It was quite a disappointing experience since this hotel was offered to us a 4-Star hotel by Ms CEYLO TRAVELS. 4. It is very highly overrated as is seen from the previous reviews in contrast to the standard of ambience ,hospitality, amenities and choice/quality of meals. 5. Good Points, a. The hotel is situated in a jungle like serene environment. The sounds of birds can be heard in the morning/evening. b. The hotel has a nice swimming pool which is located next to the restaurant. 6. Bad Points. a. The rooms have a dampness in the air and are not aired regularly and properly. b. The standard of toiletaries in the washroom was very substandard. c. The room and the washroom does not adequate lighting arrangement. d. The hotel does not have laundry services which is a normal amenity expected in a 4 Star hotel/resort. e. The hotel provides only two 500 ml mineral water bottles for one night stay. The extra water bottles asked for by us were levied at DOUBLE the MRP listed on the water bottle which is violative of legal provisions. 7. Standard of Food. a. The standard of food in terms of quality and choice was extremely limited and very minimalistic for vegetarians like us. b. We had to be contended with items like Dal,Curd and plain rice. c. The standard of bakery items was highly substandard. d. The standard of service was also not upto the mark. e. The variety/quality has NO comparison with the one we came across at Hotels like Trinco Blu beach resort at Tricomalee merely one day ago on 09 Dec 2024 and at Mandara Resort, Mirissa later on 15 Dec 2024. 8. Summary. A. This jungle resort is a 3-star standard and is highly overrated in the reviews. I assume the visitors don't have patience and inclination to write a thorough, comprehensive and realistic review. B. I would also admit that I had made a huge mistake by booking my 14 nights tour to Sri Lanka through Ms CEYLO TRAVELS,COLOMBO. This company is into excessive profiteering and is making a fool of the Foreigner Customers like us after taking 10% advance before reaching Sri Lanka and collecting balance 90% in CASH (USD or INR) immediately on arrival at Colombo. C. I would therefore suggest that the Foreigners especially Indians MUST not use the services of this company which is looting its customers in a systematic and organised manner, knowing fully well that it will be very difficult and highly un- economical for a foreigner to sue them on the Sri Lankan soil. The property is located within a forest and has good ambience and surroundings. But thats it. Probably due to low occupancy, the rooms have damp smell, and it’s suggested to leave doors open for fresh air to get in. They are quite tight with breakfast. We asked for a takeaway as we had an early morning climb to Sirigiya. The takeaway contained one hardboiled egg, croissant, sausage, a piece of cake and two slices of pineapple and a banana. As we finished early we returned to have the typical sri lankan delicacies. However they insisted on an extra charge. It surprised me as the restaurant was literally empty. We never experienced this condition wt other hotels.
