Hotel with landscaped grounds and spacious, comfortable rooms (the decoration used precious wood). Ensures a high level of service. Recommend for a very relaxing stay.

Built: 2008

Location: 170 km from Colombo airport, 145 km from Colombo. Transfer from the airport for about 5 hours.

Total area: 12 500 m2.

Consists of a main three-storey house three-storey building and eight one-story Bungalow.

The hotel has 24 rooms.

Beach: public sandy beach in 50 m from the hotel, the first coastal line. There's beach volleyball.

We accept credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express.

On the hotel territory: restaurants: 1 (Cutty Sark - buffet, A la Carte, 7:30 - 24:00. The restaurant is named after the famous ship, which in the 19th century was transporting tea from Ceylon to England), bars: 1 (Cocktail bar - 7:30-22:30), swimming pools with Jacuzzi: 1, Spa (there are Ayurvedic treatments), currency exchange, Laundry (chargeable), concert hall (40 pers.), library (DVD-library for free), doctor on call (extra charge)

Attractions: volleyball free table games free, evening show, yoga paid, free badminton courts, water sports (Shuttle, 10-15 minutes)

For children: the children in the adult pool, Babysitting services: on request, baby cot: on request, free highchairs in the restaurant: on request (free)

Children up to and including 3 years old stay for free when using an available cot.

Children from 4 years old to 11 years old stay for US$11 per person per night when using an existing bed.
Children from 4 years old to 11 years old stay for US$25 per person per night when using an available extra bed.
People 12 years old and over stay for US$50 per person per night when using an available extra bed.
Any type of extra bed or child's cot/crib is upon request and needs to be confirmed by management.

We were a family with two kids aged 6 and 9. The whole purpose of our visit was to ensure that our kids had a safe, comfortable and enjoyable holiday. The team at Weligama Bay Resort lived up to our expectations. The garden villa we chose was very spacious, very well maintained and comfortable. The large bathroom with a spa bath and shower was the best for a family with small kids like us. The food was delicious, well presented and filling. The prices for food and drinks were very reasonable. The pool was clean, well maintained and safe for kids. The caring assistance of the hotel staff was above all comfort. Many thanks to all.

We stayed here once before but our experience this time was even better. The staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble. Great breakfast, lovely pool and perfect location. The rooms are great - spacious and comfortable. We would not hesitate to return and would not hesitate to recommend others to come and stay in this wonderful place.

This hotel was perfect for us, the location is fantastic. It’s right on the beach front, beach beds, pool beds, surf equipment hire at your fingertips.
The staff a really awesome, they even made a birthday cake for us.
Our garden villa room was perfect, great size with AC, large bath room etc.
easy reach to Galle and boat safari at cinnamon island.
Definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel enjoys a great location right on Weligama Bay, offering stunning ocean views. The large rooms come with some of the largest bathrooms we've seen, making it perfect for a family vacation. While the food is good, it is the exceptional drink options and the charm of local music that really stand out. The very friendly staff make you feel at home with their warm hospitality and deep knowledge about the area, as they are locals themselves. A wonderful choice for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

We took a junior cottage, which was really beautiful, but the view which we expected to be uninterrupted ocean view was blocked by several cottages in the front so that was something we did not notice during booking. We had booked room with breakfast. However the first day when we went for the whale watching, they gave us some basic food packets in the room which was not really good and we did not feel the breakfast inclusion price was therefore worth it. Out of all the hotels that we stayed in Sri Lanka this was the only hotel which did not provide drivers accommodation. So that was one thing inconvenient. But otherwise property is really good. Right on the beach and the swimming pool is very comfortable and we had dinner one night which was excellent so definitely recommended but would request the management to work on the few details I have mentioned above.

The covid 19 impact and the economic instability in the country was quite visible in the resort, where it lacked routine maintenance. It was a great resort, I sincerely hope that it would get back into its usual high standards soon. The staff was great and the location was great as well. The rooms were spacious, the pool was ideal for a family with little kids. Overall a great resort with a great experience.

Rooms are super clean and interior was awesome. We were in 10th floor, the sea view is still remarkable. They are staff also very much concern about the customers.Food is perfect and delicious ,lot of varieties which I didn’t see in other hotels.I really wanted to visit again . Can be recommended as super luxurious hotel in LK. Specially need to thanks Chef Isuru provide us a super friendly service .Awesome experience !!!

The design of this small resort is really nice and probably the best one along the Weligama Beach.
However, the restaurant and bar service are very substandard and not at all adequate.
Many basic dishes like fish and chips, eggs benedict were served overcooked or totally burned, and the barman has no knowledge of basic cocktails. Draft beer was not served cold. Chocolate spread on crepes was the cheapest/unedible. Staff at the tables is not able to communicate/understand basic requests/menu orders in English.
We had to spend all of our dinners always outside the resort which is a real pity given the nice design and location of the restaurant.
The swimming pool was not very clean as you would expect and like.
The exhaust hood noise and smell from the adjacent Marriot Hotel kitchen was straight on our bungalow Garden Villa. Preferably choose another one when you book.
Our surfing experience was good and the location of the resort is ideal from that perspective.
