Surasa Beach Resort in Weligama

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly spot that doesn't compromise on comfort or service, Surasa Beach Resort is a winner. It’s not a "luxury" resort, but it’s exactly what a beach stay should be: clean, welcoming, and super functional.

Clean and basic, but the AC works perfectly—which is a lifesaver after a day in the sun.

The family hosting you is incredible. They truly go above and beyond to cater to anything you need. They even have beach towels available if you ask before heading out to the sand.

The common areas are surprisingly well-maintained and a great place to hang out.

Definitely ask them for recommendations! They hooked us up with great surfing schools and snorkeling lessons that made our trip.

If you are in rooms facing the beach, there's road noise and the air smells of the fish stalls which could be a downside

Highly recommended for anyone wanting a high-quality, friendly stay without the luxury price tag. We’d definitely come back!

I had a very nice stay at Surasa Beach Resort. The location is excellent, just steps from the beach and close to everything you might need.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, always available and welcoming throughout my stay. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a day out.

Overall, a great place to stay with a perfect beach location and warm hospitality. I would happily recommend it.

Love love love this place. We never received that much help and good vibes in Sri Lanka before. Also super nice rooms. Clean, AC, Spacious, balcony with space to hang your things. Actually liked, it was on the backside and also had a nice view, but more quiet.

The staff here were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout the stay.
It’s located very close to some surf schools and a lot of fish restaurants with some nice bars to chill on the beach in the evening.
The rooms were good for the prices - good AC, comfy beds and it was immaculate.

I stayed at Surasa Beach Resort for 3 nights and 4 days, and it was an amazing experience. The resort is in a fantastic location, right in front of the beach with immediate access to plenty of surf schools and very close to the Weligama town centre.

A special mention to the owner Suranga — an exceptional person who genuinely cares about his guests. Our trip was completely unplanned and sudden, but Suranga went out of his way to make everything smooth for us. He helped us with bike rentals, arranged discounts for surf lessons, coordinated whale watching, and was always available with a warm smile.

Thanks to him, our stay felt effortless and enjoyable.
I highly, highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Weligama. 100% worth it!

+ Great value for money! Clean and cozy place, a/c, balcony with a nice view, common kitchen and fridge, private bathroom. Hairdryer & mirror in the corridor, which was also fine. I personally loved the rooftop terrace with the ocean view, quite handy to check the waves before surfing or just go out and chill (no facilities there, just two lounge chairs). The owner Suranga is very friendly and welcoming, ready to help. Recommend for a budget stay in a quiet hotel near the beach and close to many restaurants and a supermarket.

Surasa Beach Resort - is our favourite place to stay in Weligama - the location is opposite Weligama Beach - provides close proximity to surfing, swimming, multiple restaurants and local shops. The rooms are spotless and each floor has the option to utilise shared cooking facilities, fridge and lounge area. The balconies are great to sit and relax watching day to day activities - day or night. The wifi is excellent and the stand out of our visit was proprietor Suranga and his extremely helpful family who ensure you have a memorable stay.

Amazing friendly Owner..!! Rooms are Big clean and nice balcony area.Air condition works properly. We Love to Surfing in Weligama ❤️ When we stayed there a lot of other surfer's from all over Europe also stayed there and some of them even for one and a half months as they liked it so much and the family invited us all to a goodbye dinner for those long-term guests. Thank you for this great experience :) Hope to visit again as soon as possible 🙏

We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks. Very nice place. Close to the beach. Especially, Suranga - the manager is really cool guy. Every our request he was trying to resolve. Loved that attention and service. I am definitely recommending this place because of kind Suranga😍

We´ve stayed at the Surasa Beach resorts for 2 weeks and had an amazing time! Very good and cozy place, really lovely staff Everything, was perfect for our stay and if we come back to this area of Sri Lanka will definitely stay there again. Special thanks to Suranga ,he helped with everything!
