Hotel Bären, St. Moritz1 / 24
8.6
St. Moritz, Via Maistra 50 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
This hotel is quite old, but we adore the old-world charm it possesses. It is about 10 mins walk from the main shopping and restaurant area of St Moritz, and about 5 mins drive from the St Moritz train station. If you're taking the train, contact the hotel beforehand and they can pick you up from the train station free of charge. We booked the most basic room, which was already quite spacious though...
Centrally located. There is a free shuttle to and from train station. We didn’t realize upon our arrival and ended up on a steep incline walk up to the hotel. I didn’t the shuttle option when booking so be aware. It’s a great service as the town is all hills. Easy to walk through the city center from hotel which was clean and comfortable.
Lovely experience. First of all: it's the people. the gentleman on the desk was really kind and covered everything well at check in, which was nice as I was arriving late. Others will criticise that it's an older building, but it actually has character and a quirkiness and an authenticity . If you want a chain hotel generic 4 to 5 star experience, then go elsewhere. this actually seemed what I would...
Peaceful Charm in St. Moritz The staff at Hotel Bären was friendly and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was excellent. We liked the high up location and enjoyed exploring the Olympic bobsled run next door. Only downside was extremely small shower and radiator heat that was hard to control.
Hotel Baren is a lovely Swiss hotel right next to the bus stop for skiing in transportation around. It’s right by the bobsled and the skeleton. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have ever experienced. The Spa and Pool with both a hot tub and a sauna were wonderful. Don’t forget to book a masseuse right there at the spa. The staff is so helpful. The Mountain View‘s from our balcony and bedroom...
A lovely hotel, but the room was not well lit. No light on the desk, no reading light over the bed. Bright modern lights in entryway and bathroom, but that is not where I wanted to work and read. Also, very odd way of presenting cheese in the breakfast room. I have not seen this anywhere else in Switzerland. Cheese cut into strips and put in little glasses get stale very fast. Loved the pool!

Great experience at Hotel Waldhaus am See, St Moritz! 😍 This luxurious hotel is a slice of paradise on Lake St Moritz. The rooms are elegant, spacious, and clean. Great breakfast spread with stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Recommended
Absolutely stunning! The restaurant directly overlooks the lake, and with the vibrant autumn colors and a touch of frost, this hotel on Lake St. Moritz is truly beautiful. From the hotel, you can easily reach various lakes in the Engadin region by bus, and the hotel even provides a free bus pass. We had a car so we didn't end up using it.
The hotel has a great location, not far from the main St. Moritz train station. After getting off the train, you can walk under the train tracks, cross the main road towards Lake St. Moritz, and you'll see the hotel right away. The only downside is that the hotel is situated on a hill, so walking uphill might be tiring, especially if you have a lot of luggage. However, the view from the hotel is absolutely...
The hotel faces Lake St. Moritz in the Alps, and the large platform in front of the hotel is a convenient parking spot for those traveling by car and also a great place for taking photos. The hotel breakfast is excellent, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery while you eat.
Lovely hotel right on the lake with a wonderful view. Comfortable room with a great shower! The only meal I had was breakfast and it was a very, very nice buffet. I was only there for one night, but would have liked to stay longer to enjoy the facilities more.
The room smells bad. It's quite expensive. Halal food should be provided because there are many Muslim visitors. The breakfast table has been booked for someone else, we ourselves didn't know there was a reservation like that until we finished eating, no one filled the reservation table, it would be better if whoever comes first can choose the dining table. Because it's a waste to reserve but other...

Everything was excellent! I’m back is very soon!
Excellent location and comfortable room with great view of the promenade.
Reception lady very nice and helpful.Good service.. Breakfast lady also very kind.
The receptionists were helpful and friendly, providing all the necessary information. Comfortable, clean and spacious room. Breakfast was ok, but we had a problem no communication from the staff. Breakfast was a buffet included. They offered us scrambled eggs, which we accepted, and then suddenly the bill came for 12 Swiss francs. The problem wasn't paying, but rather that we were never informed...
The location is good and hotel is nice.
The hotel is at the central location of the town, it offers free shuttle service from the train station. The room is big enough for a couple and the service at the breakfast is great.

The shower room is a little small, but I was able to stay there without any inconvenience. It is a little far from the station, but it is close to the bus stop.
The front desk and breakfast service were excellent, but the room cleanliness deserves zero points, practically a negative score. A terrible review is warranted – countless hairs were found on the sheets and pillowcases, making it almost impossible for us to sleep. We've never encountered such a disgusting hotel. We had to endure a sleepless night wearing our own clothes… We suspect the hotel didn...
Very nice stay. Breakfast is superb. Staff is courteous and friendly.
The front desk and restaurant staff provided excellent service! Every communication was patient and considerate. The breakfast was rich in variety, and the most touching thing was that the staff personally served freshly ground Italian coffee one cup at a time☕️
Beautiful accommodation, next to the river, great feeling.
The room facilities are not very convenient.

We spent 2 nights here as travelling on the Bernina Express. Booked directly online but email from the hotel confirming had a link that was corrupt. Received a 2nd email with check in link a week before arrival date and again had a corrupt check in link, had to contact the Reine and Laudinella group emails to resolve but both very slow to respond, was promised a link via whats app that was slow to...
Easy access to public transportation Arrangement for the room key was a big mishap. Need to seek help from Hotel Victoria Receptionist extremely friendly and helpful.
The self checking system didn't function satisfactorily. The staff at the Reine Victoria hotel are helpful. The room is clean but there is only one electric socket in the room excluding the one in the washroom. The electric kettle given had a break in the kettle handle,my friend got a scald and blister after handling it. Breakfast is nice and the one in charge is helpful.
There was no one at the main desk to check you in. The process to get a room key was not as described on the paper that was there to tell you how to check in.
Clean room and easy to check in. For check out is not as easy as check in. I thought there was self-laundry service, but there wasn't. That was only minus point.
Great hotel in lovely setting Lovely hotel in beautiful setting. Room had a lovely traditional feel to it. Check in really easy which included a very informative app and digital room key on your phone. Lovely restaurant with a great breakfast. We ate in there twice in the evening and the food was great and lovely deserts. Walking distance for everything. We had a great stay and will be back.

Nice location , quite close to train station we stopped here for one night to take the glacier express , they have a pizzeria which is very handy as we arrived late night and were hungry , breakfast variety is very less, can be better for the price. Overall good
Amazing pizza and good service but a lil expensive
Pizza is hands-down the best in St. Moritz. Service has also greatly improved with the hiring of new management. If you go for pizza this is the place to go!
I’ve got all of my orders on time without any delays. This pizza restaurant’s service was excellent and fabulous compared to others. I won’t hesitate to tell all of my friends and relatives about this place as well. Trust me... You will not be disappointed! Highly recommend this place very nice
good price for st. moritz an very very central. great breakfast included. nice bar, too
We ordered a salami sandwich with cheese and pickles. We did not see any cheese or pickles in the sandwich and the amount of salami was barely covering the bread. For a 9.80 CHF sandwich, I'd expected something else. The rustica sandwich, on the other hand, with ham and mozzarella, was fine (8.80 CHF). The service was ok.

The the temperature was -5 degrees cel and lower on average in town and surrounding areas, but the hotel room temperature was super warm and better heated than my home house. The bed was very comfortable. Lastly breakfast was super👌
Wonderful pizza service, beer... Many choices... Free parking... Excellent
Everything was very good, the food, the room but the stuff in the restaurant they‘re not really friendly more likely mad…
Fantastic hotel and restaurant. Service is excellent, rooms are clean, fresh and comfortable.
Well placed for the Lake and the Snow Polo Provision of Local transport Pass a pleasant surprise Food in the Restaurant good. Will be booking again (next year!)
10 of us stayed at Hotel Sonne during our bike trip and it was a great find. Pizzas from the restaurant were top notch, reception was friendly and location was good for the price. Will stay again for sure.

It’s a perfect place in St.Moritz everything is on point the staff is very helpful and polite. The have several areas where you can stay in the evening and listen to piano. Highly recommend!
Good value for the price. It’s not the fanciest place in the world, but it was convenient to the mountains for skiing, perfectly clean, and it included a decent breakfast. It was very easy to get around with the efficient bus system and there were two bus stops nearby. The cardio machines in the gym were basically all broken, so don’t count on going running, but they had a lot of weights and weight...
Location, service, breakfast is great! Couldn't figure out the furnace and room was clean but had a heavy pine scent to it. It was very affordable though
Had a really lovely meal at the pizzeria. Very good
Good breakfast, nice spa, fair price. The decor and rugs etc. are a little outdated but if you're just here for skiing - could be a perfect fit for you!
About the restaurant: Food's very good with plentiful portions and good presentations. Pricing is a little above average, but the biggest drawback is the gloomy environment which doesn't transmit a very positive vibe.

The hotel is beautiful. Came with complimentary spa and wellness facilities which were great and relaxing. Although the hotel is quite far from the train station, there is regular transportation arranged to and fro the hotel and train station which was really helpful. The staff were very friendly, helpful and responsive as well. Highly recommend this place!
Wonderful days in this hotel! Wonderful staff, spacious rooms, spa is amazing! I'll be back for sure!
It’s was a nice experience: Extremely pleasant, helpful, friendly, supportive team at the reception. All my requests were properly handled, and I have never heard answer “no”. Very client oriented approach. We even have got the room early (about 11 am), that was extremely appreciated. Very clean, warm, with parking available. Very close to Suvretta ski lift.
This is the fifth year in a row we are coming here as a friends group for autumn hikes, spa relaxation and great food and wine :) I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff members from reception Davide, Lorena and Sergio are extremely welcoming and friendly :) The hotel is located in a beautiful area overseeing the forest and lakes and the view from the spa is breathtaking! 5/5!
Our stay at this beautiful mountain hotel in St. Moritz was absolutely amazing! The views, the atmosphere, and the service were all perfect. Although it is an old inn, the view of Lake St. Moritz from the room is incredibly beautiful. The room was spacious and comfortable.
My stay at this hotel was wonderful. All the staff were so kind 🫶🫶 The room was spacious and well designed, also surrounded with beautiful view of St. Moritz 😍 Highly recommended!
The room was spacious, with painted patterns on the ceiling, resembling a palace. The windows were enormous, offering unparalleled views. From the train station, you can take an escalator up the mountain, cross the street, transfer to another escalator, and walk 100 meters to reach the hotel.
Arrived and was met by a very friendly guy, who welcomed me, gave me my keys and led me to my room. The room was clean. It had all I needed for a good night's sleep. The bed was comfy and I slept well. I would stay there again if I passed through Zurich again. I felt valued and comfortable there.
There is no one on duty at night. On case of emergency, no one help. I encounter electricity shut down at 9:xx at night and no one from hotel help. To go down to lobby and call the designated phone number.
The view was great, but I wish it was a little cleaner.

I never expect the hotel is far away from the town of St. Moritz. But the hotel front desk are very friendly and helpful, offer me several service to solve my panic (I have many luggage) which I very difficult to carry the luggage to walk about 20+ mins from bus stop during snow time. We loved this quaint hostel! We used the spa and also had an amazing breakfast here! Would love to come back someday.
The hotel was very nice, very pleasant, and the food was exquisite. We just never realized it was located in the mountains. They didn't tell us that when we booked our room.
We were sold a double bed, they buy us in a room with 3 single beds in a 4th floor with no elevator. We had to carry very heavy luggage upstairs. The building was pretty empty, we should have been given better accommodations.
We stayed at the hostel. Everything was very clean and the facilities were good. The only downside is that there's no elevator, and carrying a large suitcase is a problem. They also needed to clear the snow from the entrance, as walking with non-snow shoes was difficult. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly and the facilities were very good. The fondue at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably...
Loved staying here! We don’t typically stay in hostels but this place was excellent! The staff was super friendly and helpful! We had a private room with shared bathroom and showers. This hotel is just enchanting! And the staff is very nice and polite we had a great stay we will definitely visit again! The breakfast is so so good!
Great history in the property. Kind staff.
Loved the class in the hotel. Takes you to another world. The infrastructure is majestic. The views are unparalleled. The attentions from Andréa and Dino were superb! Can’t say enough. Highly recommend.
the staff was super helpful and we rented bikes that were very inexpensive and enjoyed a ride through the country and found some small lakes and many horses. Very exceptional stay!
We have stayed at 5 Star resorts and we absolutely loved Chesa Spuondas. I wanted our kids to see what a real European Vacation is like and we had a fabulous time. Not just the hotel itself but the staff! They were so warm and engaging. The new sauna was a real treat after a long day of skiing. Christmas dinner was wonderful.
Staff is very friendly and the quirky house has is own charm. Breakfast is poor in terms of offering. Scrambled eggs for example costs another CHF 6.5. Every extra than bred, butter and marmalade costs extra. Dogs are allowed in the room, but not in the restaurant/breakfast. Bathrooms are not in the room, instead at a separate room. So you need to cross the corridor. Also worth to notice room walls...

This is a wonderful smaller hotel with lovely helpful staff that speak English very well. The rooms are large with plenty of cupboard space and have a mini fridge and kettle. There's hot water kettle and fridge. Hotel also has a nice pool and sauna facilities. Overall a nice stay with friendly staff.
A truly amazing stay - Although I traveled alone, I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable. I would certainly come back here with friends and family. We had a wonderful time at hotel Cervus. The staff was very kind and helpful. The pool and wellness had a nice ambiance and was easy accessable. Ski-in and ski-out was great as well with max 20mtrs to the slope with the shoe room indoors and the ski room outside along the route to the piste was ideal.
