The hotel is good and the location great in the winter for skiing. Was hired as ski instructor for 4 days and stayed there with my guests. The menu isn't very big but the menu items rather overpriced. The rooms are small and basic. Went there for lunch again recently and it was ok but not great with a too high price tag.

Breathtaking views.
Wonderful hotel. Beautiful view. Breathtaking.
Just difficult to climb up the hill so recommend taking a taxi.

Great place to rest and relax. The view is great and the staff is outstanding. My wife and children had to leave really early to catch a train and they setup a table for them to have breakfast, even when it was outside their usual time. Is a great hotel to experience St. Moritz without having to pay that premium hotel experience but still enjoy the best of Swiss hospitality.

I agonized about which area of St. Moritz to stay in. As we were there to ski, I chose this ski in and out property to maximize our one full day on the slopes. I couldn't have chosen better. Our double room was perfect. Also, we speak Italian, so we were pleasantly surprised to find out the gregarious, very personable owner and his staff were Italian. Like the saying goes, "it's not a party if it's not at Salastrains"... It was definitely a party! Grazie mille Signor Grillo dell'ospitalità eccezionale!

Relying on their unique location, the owners of this hotel are totally neglecting their guests. Outdated facilities Uncomfortable bedding Bathroom cleanliness (black toilet bowl) No lobby or common spaces Noise from early morning Elevator out of order No reliable Internet service

Under the tutelage of the owning family Kleger in the kitchen and at the entrance, this restaurant is the in place in St. Moritz in the lower mountain range, where you still reach on foot, by car, by horse. Spacious terrace with stunning mountain views, bathed in sunshine when the sun is out. The cuisine offers everything from Bratwurst to Caviar, excellently prepared are also all dishes with truffles. The cellar holds from beer to superb wines till champagne everything one desires. Highest quality all around - wonderful staff! Anytime worth a visit

Located somewhat above the town, the view is magnificent. Don't miss the Schellenursli trail turning to the left into the forest when walking up. Friendly and helpful staff, cosy rooms, rich breakfast. I appreciated the spotless window, enhancing the view. I'd return always again.

Super kind staff, everyone was really helpful and friendly! Great location on top of the slopes, great restaurant, beautiful room with Mountain View and comptable beds. We will surely be back!

We were a group of friends, and because we were not a fur-wearing rich dudes, one server was extremly rude to us and made a fuss about giving us a table.
We finally got seated by another server and were able to order lunch. The prices are quite expensive (cordon-bleu = 54 sFr) and we therefore expected high quality of food. We were disappointed.
The polenta and the engadiner hirschwurst were dryer than the sahara, the ravioli, although being very tasty, cost 36 bucks for a really, really small portion, and spaghetti with tomato sauce for 26 bucks (also a small portion) - really?
In summary: extremely expensive for mediocre food and portions. Maybe the people dining at this place don't care about this and are happy to pay way too much for way too little. I'd recommend to go to any other restaurant on the slopes, it may also be expensive, but at least you get good food and good service.
