The welcome at the reception was excellent. The reception staff were very friendly, attentive, and professional, making the check-in experience very pleasant. A special mention goes to Glary at the reception, who was by far the best. She was always attentive to every detail, extremely kind, and professional. Her English is perfect, and she truly made a difference in our stay. The room was clean, minimal, and nicely designed. A big plus is the mosquito disinfection carried out every evening, which made our stay more comfortable. The hotel has direct access to the beach; however, the beach is not private and unfortunately not well maintained. Due to the tides, the sea in this area of Zanzibar is not very attractive, which is of course not the hotel’s fault. The area itself is very calm and quiet, ideal for relaxing. The swimming pool is beautiful, but the pool area needs much more attention. The sun loungers were very dirty and not cleaned during our stay, often covered with bird droppings, and the sand around the pool was also quite dirty. In general, many of the male employees showed very little interest in the guests. They often listened to loud music, appeared distracted, and did not provide the level of service one would expect from a quality resort. The overall attitude felt unprofessional and unwelcoming, especially in the pool area. Breakfast is very basic, and if you want anything different, such as an omelette or a cappuccino, you have to pay extra (around 5 USD per item). This is quite disappointing and feels unacceptable for a resort of this level. Another special mention goes to the breakfast waitress, Mrs. Jackline, who truly stands out. She is extremely kind, attentive, and very knowledgeable about all the breakfast ingredients. She helped us a lot with food allergies and deserves great recognition. On a positive note, the massage experience was wonderful — very relaxing and professionally done. Overall, our stay was good and enjoyable, but the experience would improve significantly if employees were better motivated, more attentive to guests, and if cleanliness around the pool area were taken more seriously.
