If you’re looking for polished luxury, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for magic, atmosphere, and genuine jungle immersion, this absolutely is. Khao Sok Tree House Resort is tucked away in Khlong Sok, about 5 km from the southwestern entrance of Khao Sok National Park, roughly 500 meters from the laid-back, backpacker-vibe village center, and about a 45-minute drive from the pier next to Ratchaprapha Dam, the gateway to Cheow Lan Lake. The resort consists of around twenty freestanding wooden tree houses scattered through dense jungle. Some sit just a few meters above the ground; others rise more than ten meters high. Every house comes with its own open viewing platform: a private little lookout tower into the rainforest. What truly sets this place apart is the floating wooden walkway connecting the houses, suspended a few meters above the jungle floor. Walking back to your tree house at night, surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest, feels like stepping into an adventure film. There’s a small but lovely swimming pool hidden among the trees, perfect after a humid jungle hike. Breakfast is freshly prepared à la carte and surprisingly good. Dinner is equally solid; yes, you can walk into the village, but the curries served here are excellent and very reasonably priced. A cold Chang beer in this setting simply tastes better. And then there’s the highlight: the treetop walkway (100 THB entrance), rising about 25–30 meters above the canopy. From up there you look out over the jungle and the dramatic limestone karst formations. Sunrise and sunset are absolutely worth the climb. Monkeys regularly visit the property — curious, photogenic, but never aggressive or intrusive. They keep their distance and add to the jungle charm. Is it ultra-luxury? No. Is it unforgettable? Very much so. If you want to sleep in the rainforest, wake up to birds and monkeys, and feel like you’re truly in Khao Sok rather than just near it — this is your place.

This Khao Sok tree house hotel is all about the experience, not luxury, and that’s exactly what makes it special. The tree houses are spread throughout the jungle and connected by wooden walkways, with a nice pool in the center. Reception and restaurant are beautifully designed and really make you feel surrounded by nature. The tree houses are simple but comfortable, with air conditioning, a mosquito net, and a fridge. Storage space is limited, but luggage is brought to your room, which is a great service. The staff is friendly and helpful throughout your stay. Breakfast is excellent with three freshly made options, drinks are good and affordable, and the food is fantastic. A unique and memorable jungle stay – highly recommended if you’re looking for atmosphere and adventure rather than luxury.

Only stayed here for a night on my way to Khao Sok national park but I enjoyed my short stay here.

The staff was very friendly at check in and were quick to offer transportation for the next day(although I already had some prearranged but I was glad to have the option). We arrived late so they were no longer serving dinner but the staff member at check in let us know there was a restaurant across the road we could go to and said they could even get us a driver if we wanted to eat somewhere further down the road.

The rooms being in the trees were cool. The steps up were a bit steep but I wasn’t too bothered personally. The room had all you needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very plush which is a nice contrast to some other beds I’ve slept in during my trip.

In the morning we had a nice breakfast and walked on the sky walk which was a fun experience included in our stay. I also got a look at the pool which looked enjoyable and I wish I had time to swim in it.

Overall great experience all around!

We a really enjoyed our stay! We stayed two nights and the staff were so beautiful. Really exceptional customer service. We did the night safari and the river canoeing and it was honestly the highlight of our trip so far. The guides were great and so lovely with our kids (6&9). Highly recommended for anyone travelling to Khao Sok and wanting to stay somewhere special.

The atmosphere, the people, the tree houses are really outstanding! I feel like i experienced the rainforest :)
We used the recommended activities (Elephant Feeding in elephant sanctuary, 1 day trip in Khao Sok) and it was amazing! Just sleeping in the Three house with sounds of rain and seeing monkeys from the window was a great experience!

We had a fantastic stay at the Khao Sok Tree House Resort on November 7-9. The staff was incredibly accommodating, helping us with tours, laundry, and transfers. Food was great at their restaurant. The grounds are well kept and the rooms are cozy. The cat walk to see the view is a MUST. Highly recommend staying here!

This place is so special! Rooms are in the middle of the jungle and there are monkeys and a small stream below the bridges. The room was quite dark and not so comfortable, but the whole vibe felt special.
The staff was really great, took us to our next destination, helped with laundry and was very accommodating.

Staying at Khao Sok Tree House was truly one of the best experiences during our trip. The hotel is surrounded by lush nature, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle and truly relax.

The room was very clean, simply yet tastefully decorated, and fully equipped with all the essentials. One of the highlights was the shower with strong and consistent water pressure something surprisingly rare in many hotels across Thailand. It made showering after a long day feel incredibly refreshing.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Amy at the reception. She welcomed us with genuine warmth, made us feel at home, and was always ready to assist with anything we needed. It felt more like staying at a friend’s home than at a hotel.

Overall, Khao Sok Tree House is a perfect blend of comfort and nature. Whether you’re traveling as a couple, solo, or with family, this place is a fantastic choice. If we ever return to Khao Sok, we’ll definitely stay here again

We booked this hotel with some trepidation given the mixed reviews and now understand why there is such a range. Ultimately these are rooms in the middle of a jungle area where it rains a lot. If you go expecting 4* luxury you will be very disappointed. On the plus side staff were friendly, the rooms have character, and the communal area is very pleasant and creates a nice social hub. Do bear in mind though that rooms are basic, shower quality is limited, and some mod-cons (like somewhere to hang your clothes!) are missing. If you embrace it for what it is then it’s fine, but do not expect luxury (and be prepared for the odd bug!). Also we booked a number of tours but information on what to expect, what to take etc. was very limited which is a shame as we were not as prepared as we could have been. We also found the weather forecasts to be useless and it rained pretty much all the time (no fault of the hotel tho!).
