Khao Sok River & Jungle Bungalow in Khao Sok

Khao Sok River and Jungle Resort is beautifully located in the heart of nature, surrounded by lush greenery and charming wooden bungalows. At first glance, the resort looks truly inviting: the small houses scattered among the trees create a peaceful and picturesque atmosphere that perfectly matches the spirit of Khao Sok. Unfortunately, the experience inside the rooms does not fully live up to the promise.

The accommodations are quite humid, with a noticeable smell and several small defects that affect comfort. The curtains are impractical—while closing them, the rod fell off at least three times. Space is also an issue: there is no real wardrobe or dedicated area to place luggage. Traveling as a couple, we had to keep our suitcases on the floor, leaving almost no room to move around. The bathroom is very basic, with no enclosed shower, meaning the entire area gets wet after use. The sink is old and rather small. Also, be cautious about leaving food in the room; insects can easily find their way in.

The resort’s restaurant, located in the main hall, was average. The lunch we had on arrival wasn’t exceptional, and breakfast was decent but not remarkable. They do offer a variety of freshly cooked dishes, but nothing stood out. Although there is a dedicated vegan page on the menu, I found out that the pancakes actually contained eggs, so it’s best to double-check if you have dietary restrictions.

On the positive side, the resort provides well-organized paid activities. We joined the night safari and the Khao Sok lake tour—both were wonderful experiences. The staff prepared bags with everything we needed, which was a thoughtful touch. The resort is also conveniently close to restaurants, shops, markets, and laundries.

In conclusion, Khao Sok River and Jungle Resort is set in a stunning location and offers well-managed activities, but the quality of the rooms and food leaves room for improvement.
