Reviews
The tree houses offer the ultimate glamping experience — all the comforts you could want, including air conditioning and a private en-suite bathroom, while being completely immersed in nature. Falling asleep surrounded by the sounds of the forest and waking up to lush greenery is simply magical.
Breakfast is included, and the resort also offers lunch and dinner between 12:00 and 8:00 pm, making it easy to relax and enjoy your stay without worrying about logistics. Activities can be booked directly through the resort, and our absolute highlight was the elephant sanctuary experience — without question one of the best days of our entire holiday.
Everyone at Khao Sok Nature Resort is incredibly friendly, kind, and welcoming, which makes the experience even more special. The atmosphere is peaceful, authentic, and deeply restorative.
Highly recommended — this place is not just a resort, it’s an unforgettable experience.
## Overview
This jungle resort delivers exactly what it promises: an authentic jungle experience where you can watch monkeys, birds, and butterflies from your own terrace. Each unit is elevated a few meters above ground to safely separate guests from the wildlife below.
## Pros & Cons
### Pros
- Authentic jungle wildlife viewing from your terrace
- Excellent, personalized service from mgr/owner Mr. Tee & team
- Secluded location away from tourist crowds
- Unique elevated accommodation design
- Helpful assistance with local excursions and transportation
### Cons
- Inconsistent room quality (luck of the draw)
- Unpaved access road can be bumpy
- Potential power outages (though quickly resolved)
- Basic rooms lack proper windows
## Final Verdict
We were very satisfied with our stay at this jungle resort. The combination of genuine wildlife experiences, great hospitality, and peaceful jungle setting made for a memorable visit. While room quality varies, the overall experience and service quality make this a recommended choice for those seeking an authentic nature retreat.
## Location & Setting
The resort sits 800 meters from the main road via an unpaved, bumpy access road. While this might seem inconvenient, it's actually a major advantage - you're completely removed from the crowded, touristy entrance street of Khao Sok National Park. The secluded location creates a genuine nature retreat atmosphere.
## Accommodation Quality
Room quality varies significantly depending on which unit you're assigned. Our family of four stayed in two different rooms (both were standard rooms with queen size bed at same price) with notably different standards:
- **Parent's room**: Beautiful wooden interior, proper bathroom, and real windows (picture attached)
- **Kids room**: More modest furnishings with shutters instead of windows
Your experience will largely depend on which specific room you receive.
## Service Excellence
Mr. Tee, the owner/manager, provided exceptional hospitality throughout our stay. When we had booked a lake boat excursion without transportation, he arranged for his nephew to drive us there - even though he offers competing excursions himself. This thoughtful gesture exemplified the genuine care and support we received.
For future guests, I'd recommend booking transportation through Mr. Tee rather than pre-booking through services like 12Go, as he offers competitive rates with personalized support.
## Practical Considerations
We experienced a power outage during our first night, making it uncomfortably warm without air conditioning in the jungle humidity. However, electricity was restored by morning and remained stable for the remainder of our stay. Sleeping in an air-conditioned jungle hut is far more comfortable than without power.
The room was basic but everything you need. Not a lot of water pressure and a couple of ants in the room but the fly net was a life saver.
The only thing was more fans at breakfast, would keep fruit flies away better.
Would come again!
Unfortunately little bit too much nature friendly because we had cockroaches and worms 🪱 in our small house. It ended up with us sleeping in the car, after finding 5th little friend around our bed.
Breakfast was nice and just enough.
If not the little guests I would be more than happy with this place.
A lot of the huts are built around huge trees and the treehouse experience is very special. Rooms are dark; no glass in the windows. So it’s a choice between wooden shutters or mosquitos. AC and fan but no kettle or fridge.
Breakfast is included. Restaurant food is not brilliant.
Not a lot to do here; there’s nowhere good to walk to. Access to the river is not easy, you either have to ignore private signs into the Khao Sok Monkeys campground or walk along a particularly unrewarding rough track.
Langur monkeys in the trees. Heard the wonderful gibbon’s morning call in the distance (from north across the river).
Unfortunately, all the “jungle” ambience was drowned out by the building work The angle grinder noise was driving us crazy.. We tried to cancel the second night but the owner assured us that it was going to be quiet tomorrow. But it was way worse.
House was ok, AC was working, water pressure in the shower was poor, but again - this is a tree house in the jungle 😄
Several times we saw monkeys and it was nice to watch them.
I do not recommend breakfast. It’s from 7:30 till 9:30. If you come by 7:30 you will have some choice (be careful with croissants two days in the row there were bugs), if you come by 8:30 you will have leftovers and they do not bring more food.
