Tao Thong Villa 1 in Koh Tao Island

I’m staying in the Deluxe Bungalow at Tao Tong Villa 1 and after my first night I’m really happy with my choice. The room is beautifully designed, clean, and exactly as shown on the booking site. My bungalow has air conditioning, which made it very comfortable—some others are more basic, so it’s worth checking the descriptions.

The staff are extremely kind and helpful, I felt warmly welcomed, and breakfast was good. The atmosphere is peaceful, the price is fair, and it’s a great place to relax. So far, I can only recommend it—maybe I’ll update after a longer stay.

And 1 day snorkeling with golden retriever.

Simple rooms with stunning view, it has private beach where you can snorkel.
It’s a grate place to relax and enjoy the sound of the see.
The restaurant is ok, not more. And it closes at 20:00
This place can be reached only by taxi or motorbike and you should take in to account that there are many stairs down the hill so it is not suited if you have trouble walking

Our stay was amazing, truly a dream!

We picked a beach-side bungalow without AC and I don't regret our choice because the ventilator was enough (despite the 36 degree felt temperature in the night, you just have to place it in front of the bed, inside the mosquito net) and it came with some major upsides:
- The sea just below our balcony.
- Lots of wind, so less mosquitos.
- Very private location, barely any people passing by, the balcony was pretty much out of sight.
- Absolutely no street noise besides the very few boats.
- Very close to nature, with lots of butterflies, crabs and the occasional spider or snake. I'm terrified of the latter, but they were just as scared of me and weren't dangerous.

PERKS OF TAO TONG 1:
- Two of the best snorkeling spots on the island are here! There are two bays in different directions, so if there sea is too choppy on one side, you can snorkel on the other! It was fantastic to just wake up and go snorkeling without having to carry anything along and take a shower and have breakfast straight after.
- If the wind isn't blowing at the balcony, it probably will be at the restaurant.
- The restaurant is GREAT and open from 8 am to 8 pm, which is great for breakfast and rainy, lazy days. The prices were reasonable and the staff was very friendly.
- I was picked up at the harbor for 300 Baht and it was totally worth it.
- Communication was easy and I felt very welcome.

All in all, I'm writing my review now shedding tears and hoping I can come back soon. Thank you very much, dear people who worked hard to make our stay so relaxing!

Having just spent 5 nights here at Tao Thong Villa 1. I’m unsure what all the negative comments are about. Yes the location is in the middle of nowhere but you can check this before you book as it’s quite obvious on a map. And the resort also provides a taxi as and when you need it for a very small cost. It was pure heaven for us! The room was perfect. Hot water and aircon! Amazing size! And the whole resort itself is beautiful! Clear crystal waters and the choice of different small beaches made it more personal and relaxing. The staff was so lovely and welcoming and the restaurant was some of the best food we ate. Having travelled to 5 different islands this trip, Tao Thong Villa 1 provided the best sunset to Thailand. We will be back to Thailand very soon and this will be our first stop 🙏🏻😍

Magnificent view in a quiet area with its 2 exceptional small beaches. The staff is very kind and welcoming, Emma speaks French and can advise you on many things to do. Restaurant on stilts where you eat well. Bungalows on stilts facing the sea. If you like snorkeling, this is where you have to come.

We loved this place! The location is great - away from the crowds (you need a moped though). The beach is essentially private with some good reefs where we even saw a black tip shark. The owner is really nice and friendly, giving us tips about local places. Food was simple but good.

They have AC and fan bungalows. The fan ones are right by the beach. We stayed there the first night but it was too hot and there was an army of ants in the bathroom (understandable as the bungalow was built around a big tree), so we asked to change to an AC one up the hill, which was newer and much cleaner.

Overall great value for money. You could get here by a taxi boat from the main pier too.

Restaurant have a good view, it is good point for sunset view.
Drinks must try coconut shake &banana bean shake .
Can snorkel in front of resort that have many fish. Have kayak boat at resort that you can rent it.

Owner seems annoyed all the time. Location is breathtakingly beautiful. If you like snorkeling, go there. The sanitary equipment however is rather poor. You also NEED a scooter to get there.
