Reviews
From pick-up at Nathon Pier through check-in, the service was seamless and attentive. We were accommodated in a room with a partial ocean view, and we appreciated the effort to acknowledge our honeymoon with welcome amenities.
That said, while we were grateful for the gesture, the amenities themselves felt rather generic. Having stayed at other resorts where touches felt more personal and thoughtfully curated, this one gave the impression of being standard for all guests, regardless of occasion.
The resort grounds are expansive, and possibly due to the hotel operating at a high occupancy level during our stay, buggy service occasionally took longer than expected, something worth noting given the size of the property.
We also experienced an issue with water pressure in our room, which was addressed promptly by the team. However, the initial water flow had a sandy, rust-colored appearance after the issue was resolved. While these issues were addressed and did not significantly detract from our stay, our expectation was that such lapses would not occur at this level of brand and pricing.
The rate during our stay was notably higher than usual, likely due to peak season. Given our overall experience, we felt the pricing was not exactly relative to the service and experience delivered. That said, we still very much enjoyed our honeymoon stay and look forward to experiencing other Ritz-Carlton properties in the future.
So, would i come back? No, maybe not. Save the money and go somewhere else if you dont plan to go to the pool villa. Maybe i Will give it another chance when the property breath some ”fresh” youthful air…..
And I have to give the highest praise to the whole team. Everything was lovely from start to finish. When we arrived, we were greeted with some coconut water. The perfect start since we were quiet tired and dehydrated from our long travelling.
For our stay we booked a twin room with ocean view (we there were two fresh cocnuts witing for us!) and the room was absolutey fantastic.
Now onto the breakfast, that was amazing as well. There were lots of options and the staff was very attentive. Here I would particularly like to highlight Nan. She made our breakfast even more enjoyable with her kind and funny nature!
But I do have to say regarding the breakfast, that after a week the meals got a bit repetitive, since they weren't changed that often. At 9.00/9.30 it might get a bit crowded and waiting times a bit longer, but we're talking about a few minutes here, so it really wasn't a problem.
The property is very grand, here for the hotel offers a buggy service, which is very convenient! The pool area is also very nice, though the beach a bit less since the sand is a bit grainy. But i still loved to swimm in the ocean.
The hotel may be a bit offside so it's necessary to call a taxi. But I have to mention, that the hotel offers a shuttle three times a day.
Last but not least I would like to say a big big thank you to Nisa and Axel, who are some of the kindest people I know and loved to spend time with them! Hopefully I will see the two of you very soon again!
The main disappointments were the beach, pool and restaurants which is where we would be spending most of our time as we were travelling with a baby. The common areas generally felt quite worn down and a little tacky. Nothing like what you would expect from a 5 star hotel, and absolutely nothing like what you would expect from the Ritz.
We had lunch at the beach restaurant and ordered room service for dinner. Both food experiences were quite poor. We had already spent 1 week in Samui and this was the worst food experiences so far on our trip.
The breakfast was better and had a huge selection, but the quality of the produce was not the best.
The gym was s positive surprise, beautiful location and a good variety of equipment.
Our room was spacious, clean and nice, but quite noisy as you could hear guests in the hallway and other rooms. The terrace was quite disappointing as well.
Unfortunately, this was a very poor representation of the Ritz brand and felt more like a massive 4 star Las Vegas type resort. Overall the hotel and it's service level is lacking attention to detail.
