Seashell Resort Koh Tao in Koh Tao Island

.Catfished and unfriendly/unhelpful staff.
We booked seashell resort last minute as was only place left of island within our budget. While room is as described when booking, the door does not reach the floor, leaves a big gap so lots of bugs, gecko’s, mosquitoes and spiders in our room. The bed is hard as rock, very uncomfortable to sleep in. They do not leave soap, no hot water. The fan just blows hot air round the room, constantly sweating and the cleaners just left 1 spare towel outside our room for cleaning when we requested 2 clean ones and a room clean. They did not even enter our room when we requested a clean at reception. No sheets were changed, no bins emptied, no towels were removed and the floor was not swept when we arrived or when we asked for the clean. We asked at reception about an upgrade and the gentleman as reception was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful, almost as if we were the one doing him a disservice by asking. The price for an upgrade was the same as we paid to stay in the first place making it double the money and was not even friendly or apologetic about it. We decided not to go with the upgrade as crazy expensive just to get a room where the door touches the floor and bed is not rock solid. Overall great location but not worth the money, would recommend a hostel on island as they seem much cleaner and receptive than seashell resort. Would not recommend

Bad experience. The room was very dirty and near a big road. The entire hotel was in bad condition. Staff did not care about the guests and the breakfast was not worth it.
