Reviews
It’s perched at an absolutely stunning location on a peninsula and the hotel itself has a lovely lush green jungle feel to it.
The room was nice and clean but few niggles stopped this being full marks for me.
I loved the clean room, comfortable bed and we also had an outdoor seating area which was great. Did not like the shower which has poor water pressure and a nozzle that did not work. Credit to the hotel when I phoned they fixed the nozzle but the water pressure remained poor.
I also felt the hotel itself was a little behind the times service wise, the hotel we stayed in before this place had everything you needed on a downloadable app. So coming here felt like a step back having to ask or chase a member of staff.
As a vegan the food was okay, the restaurant has a couple of options but it’s far from extensive and the breakfast buffet was not marked for what had egg or fish in it. Again I fed this back. The dinners and and lunched we had the food was great.
Feels like a hotel on the edge of greatness!
My vacation to the island of Koh Lanta was beyond an amazing experience. The Avani + resort is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed on all of my travels.
On 12/10/25 I had dinner at the restaurant and my servers name was Nid. She was very welcoming and made the dinning experience exceptional. Nid was very fast and made sure everything was to my liking. She checked in with me a good amount but not too much like some others do, it was the perfect amount.
Because of the friendly staff, beautiful resort with stunning views, delicious food, and overall great experience I will be returning next year.
-Thank you Avani + !!!
The rooms are equipped with everything you need, and there are many thoughtful little touches that sweeten your stay. We love the bathroom and the view.
Breakfast is simply: wow… everything fresh, beautifully presented, and everything your heart could desire. If you don’t get full here, it’s your own fault.
The restaurant (where breakfast is also served) is fantastic as well. Authentic, delicious, and fresh Thai cuisine (as well as other dishes) and caring staff.
We love Avani+ and can only recommend it!

The shuttle times to and from the airport were a bit limited so I didn’t get to take advantage of that due to my flight times but would overall recommend to anyone looking for a more upscale stay with easy accessibility.
I’m an adventurer and so wish I had gotten to spend more time just hanging out, but was a really nice place to come home to between adventures.
We initially realized the room we booked was further from the main pool and beach than we'd hoped, and the team kindly and quickly moved us to a perfect new location—a wonderful gesture.
The most impressive moment was when I accidentally left a bag in a taxi upon leaving. The Avani+ staff went above and beyond, locating the bag and successfully shipping it to our next hotel by the following morning.
A huge thank you to the entire team for making our trip seamless and relaxing. Highly recommend this hotel for exceptional service and care!
We stayed in an ocean view room with a big patio only steps away from the shared pool. There are rooms with a private pool and rooms where one can walk into the pool. Many room options available. The staff in all departments are kind and go out of their way to make sure that you are comfortable and happy. The Cliff House restaurant is excellent. Wood fired pizzas, and the breakfast were delicious, get the breakfast!!!
Overall, it was a very restful stay with comfortable and well-kept rooms, as well as a restaurant with a stunning view and great food, and resort grounds that are lush and a pleasure to walk around in. The staff were warm, cordial, thoughtful and very helpful.
My only two complaints are (1) a cockroach that we found inside the room hiding among the cushions on the couch by the window, which I chased out. And (2) the inability to cover the balcony when raining heavily - it makes it difficult to actually enjoy the sea view.
But otherwise, the 'wildlife' on the grounds add to the lush environs -- the earthworms during the rain, the harmless water monitor I saw ambling around and getting some sunlight, the small frogs and toads hopping about at night, and the cicadas that keep us company each evening -- these were all lovely. And the sunset views can be quite picturesque.
The surroundings are beautiful and tranquil allowing you to relax and enjoy all the resort has to offer.
Our room lived up to all expectations with a stunning view of the sea. We mentioned in passing a minor problem that we had and unbeknownst to us the team had done their best to rectify it by that evening.
The staff are professional, friendly and will go out of their way to ensure everything is perfect for your stay.
Special mention to Noona, Ant and the fabulous team at FB. Seeing your welcoming faces when we went for meals was certainly a highlight of our trip. Happy hour at the O2 bar also deserves a mention, who doesn't love 2 for 1 cocktails.
Thank you all so much for making our stay wonderful.
Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
We were charged 200 baht for a glass that broke by accident, and the hotel has a long list of fines for broken or missing items. Instead of relaxing, you feel stressed about extra charges.
For the price, the room was very underwhelming: no wardrobe, no bathrobes, and extremely low water pressure. When we asked about the shower, the response was simply: “That’s how it is.”
There’s nothing to do at the hotel (no gym, games, or activities). The scooter we rented through the hotel was unsafe, with worn-out tires.
Breakfast was one of the worst we had in Thailand — very limited selection, poor quality, and badly cooked eggs.
The location is isolated, the road leading to the hotel is mostly unlit at night, and your only options to go out are renting a scooter or taking overpriced tuk-tuks waiting outside. Most nearby cafés are cannabis-oriented, which didn’t suit us.
The only positive: kind and polite reception staff.
Nice sea view, but no privacy — people constantly walk in front of the balcony.
Overall: very poor value for money. We wouldn’t return or recommend
The accommodations were really quite nice as well, we had the Superior Studio Garden View. The room was spacious and well maintained, generally clean. As some other reviews suggested the door did have tiny gaps between the frame and door but no lizards or bugs came in. We did have to exterminate a couple of mosquitoes (about 5/6 during our 4 night stay) at the start of our stay but it really wasn’t too bad. The AC unit was strong, not too noisy. And the housekeeping kept everything nice and tidy. My only gripe was the water pressure for the shower was less than ideal. But overall the stay was very comfortable, just don’t expect Ritz Carlton level accommodations.
Pros:
- 5 star service from hotel staff!!
- Great convenient location for food and excursions; so much fun to scooter around!
- rooms are clean/good ac/bed is comfortable esp if you like firmer beds
- pool was nice and good beachfront access
- breakfast is quite good as well
- friendly resort cats :)
- great for couples and family
Cons:
- water pressure for shower was low
- occasional bugs/mosquitoes (but I mean, it’s an island, it’s impossible not to have them)
