Chalaroste Lanta the Private Resort in Lanta Island

The place is absolutely adorable and the owners are super nice.

The only problem we had was that after a few days we noticed some ants, it wasn't a big issue, and probably the con of loving next to the jungle in a house.

But anyway, definitely would stay again

Very friendly owner, it might not as luxury as others, but the heart warming reception can only be find here, could have stay for longer if my itinerary allows

The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is well off the main road, which is great for sleep and quiet. Downside is the abundance of nature (bugs, insects and other wild life) that will inevitably find its way into your room.

Also recommend only travellers with cars or scooters to choose this hotel as it is on a giant hill.

A small but very cozy and pleasant hotel on Koh Lanta, away from the noise. The rooms look a bit larger in the photos 😄 but the bungalows are cozy, enough space for two people. The rooms are a bit tired, as are the bed linens and towels, but I'm not picky and this didn't spoil the experience. The hosts and staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast varied daily, with something new offered each time. It was delicious, and it's especially nice to have breakfast with a sea view. Each bungalow has a rooftop access, where you can admire an incredible sunset. A neighbor's rooster once came onto the grounds and crowed right under the windows at 6 a.m. Monkeys sometimes rage in the trees nearby, but I didn't notice any on the grounds. The pool is very warm, due to the dark tiles. I recommend renting a car, a motorbike, or at least a bicycle on the island, otherwise you can go broke on the local tuk-tuks - the hotel offers bike rentals with no deposit.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Well maintained and clean pool. Plenty of sunbeds but cushions are very hard and uncomfortable. Roof terrace is a huge plus and creates a nice private space. Rooms are adequate and well equipped but the bathrooms would benefit from a refurb.....remove the baths and replace with a walk-in shower. Wi-Fi works ok but not strong enough to support App downloads or live sporting events Breakfast was fresh and adequate but somewhat repetitive over our 13 day stay. The location is peaceful, quiet and picturesque with the ambience only interrupted/spoilt by the many children that room share with parents....this was something that surprised us as we had anticipated that the resort would be more suited to adults. Overall an enjoyable stay and worth the uphill climb each evening. Special mention to the excellent staff

Amazing Stay at Chalaroste Lanta – The Private Resort! I had an incredible stay at Chalaroste Lanta. The owners are extremely kind, welcoming, and truly go above and beyond for their guests. They helped us with great prices on scooters, tours, and anything else we needed during our stay. Their hospitality made the whole experience even better. The location of the resort is perfect. Every room has access to its own rooftop area, where you can sunbathe during the day and enjoy a stunning sunset in the evening. It’s such a unique and beautiful setup. I genuinely recommend this hotel to everyone. I will definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Koh Lanta!

We had a wonderful stay. The service was truly excellent, and the people were incredibly friendly. The cottage was very clean. It was also nice to have plenty of space to sit outside, both on the roof of the cottage, in a covered area in front of the cottage, and by the pool. The pool was a lovely temperature and spacious. The location is fantastic; you're in an oasis of peace, yet a three-minute walk takes you to a street full of restaurants and a 7-Eleven, and the beach is a five-minute walk away.

Absolutely loved this place. Dont be put off by the approach up to this hidden Gem. Lovely family run, in an ideal position for beach, bars, restaurants, etc, or up to Night Market a short tuk-tuk ride away. 7-11 at the bottom of the hill. Very clean, water bottles daily, lovely cleaning ladies who constantly smiled and greeted you. Hotel provides transfers, several trips and motorbike hire only 250bht per day. Breakfast wasn't massive, but there was plenty to eat with fresh scrambled eggs cooked every day for me. Roof terrace on each 'villa' to watch the sunset on was an added bonus. Only about 9 villas so pool never crowded and as well as each villa having its own patio table and chairs there were sunbeds etc available. Loved our visit here, and we wished we had stayed longer. Thank you to the 'hosts' who made our stay special and for our lovely leaving gift.

“Just Wow” - this little boutique hotel was such a bargain find. Set in nature, beautifully rustic. We booked our transfer via the hotel from the air port which is convenient ’door-to-door’ & after are stay direct to Ao-nag , very reasonable. Both journeys were in nice large air conditioned carriers, water provided. We highly recommend a stay here; it was like ‘home from home’. The hosts are a family who bring you into their home. The hotel is based in a perfect location, nice pool - quiet with only a short walk to the main drag and walking street / market is only a tuk-tuk ride. There are very nice reasonable restaurants on the beach , just a ten minute walk. There is a laundry service at the bottom of the road to hotel and a 7/11 shop. Rooms - well not rooms as such - you have a ‘bungalow with access to your large roof terrace with sun furniture - comfortable large bed - bathroom with bath/shower; always hot water💪. WI-Fi (which reaches all areas) tea & coffee facilities & small fridge with water. TV. Always kept clean . Outside door a veranda with two sun chairs. Also provided mossy bits to divert the critters. You can hire peds from the reception and book trips. The island is very easy to navigate. Breakfast provides a mixture of eggs (as you wish) buffet style continental and Thai - all in abundance. From the pool maintenance chap to the daily cleaners and breakfast staff , everybody was pleasant kind and accommodating - The hosts will try to met your every need. Highly recommended, would return in a heart beat.

My wife and myself stayed here in Feb 2025 and it was our best Ko Lanta experience after we have visited the island 5 times. May who runs the place is so warm and friendly and always accommodating. I was amazed at how many people I met here who have been coming back to stay here for over 10 years. It just goes to show how much people love coming back to stay here. With only 9 rooms and a pool in the centre; It's perfect for a quiet get away. The location is in Klong Dao witH all amenities right down the road about 100 metres from the resort. We are making plans to go back here next year.
