Sayang Beach Resort in Lanta Island

We loved our stay here and would definitely come back. After staying in Phuket and Krabi we came to Koh Lanta chasing the old style Thailand. Sayang Beach Resort gave us that. The staff were friendly, helpful and happy. The bungalow we stayed in was gorgeous and it felt like we were in the middle of the jungle. We loved waking up to the sound of the waves from the ocean and all of the wildlife surrounded us. The beach is stunningly beautiful. It is the most relaxed we have felt in a long time. There is loungers, a good cafe, a stunning restaurant, a really cool beach bar and you can get a massage. I must say, the food at the restaurant had some of the best Thai food I have ever had. They have good options and the staff are very attentive. They provide beach towels, water and the internet is ok. They also can arrange tours for you and speedboats ect to other islands. If you don’t have a moped they easily arrange taxis for you. We loved having dinner at the restaurant watching the sunset and then having a few beers and a walk down the beach as there is a couple of other bars ect but we always ended up coming back to Sayang and spent most of our time there. I would highly recommend Sayang beach resort. The price is very fair.

Sayang is beautiful. Literal steps from the end of Long Beach allowing you to walk up at your own will, housekeeping everyday, supplying you fresh bedding, towels and bottled water was great. The staff spoke good English and we had no issues with the language barrier. Reception was able to hire us scooters and made the process so much easier, the restaurant is on the beach front but it wasn’t an issue for us. The food was bang on, and the bar was such a good laugh, the staff so friendly and accommodating, after the first night one of them secured us a regular table whilst we were there. The main road is located a couple minutes walk the opposite was and has great access to all areas of Koh Lanta. Would 100% return if I was ever staying on Koh Lanta again, which is a big possibility.

I had mixed expectations due to the varying reviews, and since it was high season, the only available option was the cheapest standard bungalow.

But what a cozy place! The bungalow was perfect for the two of us. The difference in standard seemed to be that we had simple but comfortable plastic chairs on our terrace, while others had wooden ones with soft cushions.

The bed was softer than the typical Thai beds, so it was absolutely fine. The location by the sea is absolutely amazing, with a beautiful beach and wonderful water—so we didn’t miss having a pool at all.

The staff were incredibly lovely, personal, and friendly. Truly service-minded!

The breakfast, which was included in the price, was delicious and had everything you could need. I imagine the selection might vary, but since the resort was fully booked, it was plentiful during our stay.

Book this place if you want to sit and enjoy the sunset on the beach while sipping a great drink.

Perfect quiet location on the beach, the bungalows are clean and well organized. The staff is welcoming and helps you with everything, we could even get an extra hour before checkout and wait in the area for our later pickup. The only thing a bit outdated is the air conditioner that is very loud, but it’s not a huge issue. Coffee shop on the premises is delicious, fresh fish is served every evening and massage is also close.

This hotel really captured the vibe of Thailand with it’s down-to-earth, paradise-like atmosphere.

Highlights:
The bar plays soft music but low enough to, letting you enjoy the sound of the ocean.
The breakfast includes delicious Thai dishes,
The hotel has a fruit shake stand and small coffee house that served real barista coffee.

The deluxe seaview bungalow was cozy and close to the beach, and the comfy bean bags on the sand were perfect for relaxing.

The staff were incredibly sweet, and the Thai massages were amazing.

While the restaurant food was a bit inconsistent, the overall experience was fantastic.

We originally booked three nights but loved it so much that we extended our stay. If you want a chill, stress-free getaway, this is the place to be!

Lovely place. We came here in 2019 and 2024. First of all it is a resort with bungalows. In the first 2 categories (sea front and Rimley) you see the ocean. The Bungalows are big and nice designed. You have all you need. Also a balcony to relax and see the ocean.
It is located at long beach where you can do long beach walks or swimming and diving.
The people here are so nice to all the guests and give you the feeling to be home.
The restaurant has really good food on a higher level of quality. Especially the fresh fish every evening is a dream.
The reception helps you to get all kind of trips. Not only the standard trips, also special trips with people the know e.g. local fisherman. You also can rent motorbike etc.
The rooms get cleaned perfectly every day.
All in all, we will come back. We love it here.

At the end of our tour of Thailand, we spent 8 nights at the Sayang and had a wonderful rest. We had the villa right on the beach with sun loungers. The villas directly behind it are just as well located and cost about €20 less per night. The breakfast was extensive and good, offering both continental breakfast and local dishes. The restaurant is right on the beach, with tables set up on the sand. We found it very good value for money and comparable to the neighboring beach restaurants. The sun loungers are available to hotel guests and are shaded under several tall trees. Since it was 38°C, we really enjoyed the shade. The beach is incredibly beautiful, with no rocks, just stunning turquoise-green water. Unfortunately, we saw jellyfish on several days, which were driven into the bay by the current and wind. After three days, they were gone again. Because the water is so clear, you can immediately see when a jellyfish is nearby. What we missed was nearby shopping. You have to walk 5-10 minutes along the road for that. The hotel is located directly on the beach and somewhat removed from the road. This makes it very quiet, but lacks some infrastructure. There are several restaurants and bars on the beach, however. Massages are also available both at the hotel and at neighboring establishments. Our recommendation: Funky Fisch Massage. The Funky Fisch Restaurant is also highly recommended.
