Diamond Sand Palace in Lanta Island

We unfortunately did not have a good experience with our stay at Diamond Sand Palace. Online it is advertised as beachfront, however the rooms are not, but the restaurant attached, is.
Our room was a private bungalow, but didn’t meet any of the expectations we had upon booking. The room was very old, our sheets had multiple stains on them, and the comforter had no cover. The water from the shower and sink had a very foul smell to it. There were limited outlets and lighting in the room, making it a challenge to plug in devices or even see yourself in the mirror, when getting ready.

The worst part of our experience, however, was that the power to all the bungalows repeatedly shut off. The first time we noticed it was in the middle of the night, our AC shut off, shortly after we realized all the power was off. It happened again the next evening. Upon asking the owner about the issue, she replied, telling us it must have been the whole island that was out...which was very untrue.

For the price it’s honestly not worth it, you can stay elsewhere on Lanta for a better price, better room and just as close of a walk to the ocean. I would not reccomend this place to anyone.
