Chateau de Sukhumvit in Bangkok

This is the first time I've ever given a hotel a bad review, and I've traveled a lot. I booked three nights and had to endure it because it was non-cancellable. As soon as I entered the room, there was a distinct smell of stinky feet. The hotel is located by a small road, so there's constant motorcycle noise. In the mornings, around 5 or 6 AM, they start sweeping downstairs, which is incredibly loud. Every morning at 8 AM, a staff member would knock on our door asking if we needed housekeeping. If we didn't open the door, they'd just keep knocking. What hotel demands cleaning at 8 AM? The hotel's location is far from everything. They claimed there was a tuk-tuk service to take us to the subway station on the hour, but we could never actually catch it. We arrived at the hotel entrance promptly at 2 PM, and the staff said it had already left? We didn't even see the tailpipe. For anyone traveling, I really don't recommend this hotel because you'll waste a lot of time on transportation.

The rooms were decent, but definitely not up to a 3-star standard. However, the real issue was the way they handled the deposit. We stayed for five days, and for two of those days I had to remain in the room because I wasn’t feeling well. We had a great time in Thailand overall, but on our last day right when we were checking out they tried to deduct 500 baht from our deposit. Mainly the rude old lady who ruined my whole day with unprofessional talks.

They claimed the bedsheets had color stains from my T-shirt and that the floor towel was dirty and required special cleaning. When I asked to see the supposedly dirty towel, they only showed me a photo, which I don’t believe was ours. I also asked why they didn’t inform us immediately when housekeeping noticed it, but they had no answer. After going back and forth, they suddenly reduced the charge from 500 baht to 100 baht.
